Alert - Charles Xavier Hospitalized

As you've no doubt seen in the news, our university president has suffered a heart attack and is in the intensive care ward of the school's hospital. Every mutant owes Xavier so much, and so we understand that you may want to visit him, but there is a limit to the number of visitors he can accept at the moment. We hope you will be patient and understand that while you may not be able to see Xavier immediately, we are working on a solution that will allow as many people as possible to interact with him and wish him well.

So far his condition is stable, and the medical staff is confidant that he will pull through the current crisis. We will keep you updated on the news as it becomes available. A prayer service is being organized in Bond Hall Auditorium, scheduled for tomorrow night, Feb 7th.

You may use this area as a forum for posting supportive comments and well-wishes. Xavier will be able to read them when he recovers. Disrespectful comments will be removed.

Update - We are pleased to report that Xavier's situation has stabilized for the moment. While he's not completely out of the woods yet, university physicians are confidant that he will continue to get better over the next few days. There is still a danger of relapse or a second incident of cardiac arrest, so we urge you to continue to offer thoughts and prayers for his recovery.

As Xavier is feeling stronger, he has asked for an opportunity to address the student body. Because there are still security and health concerns, Xavier will not be able to address the student body directly. However, the school is setting up a holographic system which will be in place this evening at 8pm in the school's largest auditorium in the concert hall.

All students and faculty are encouraged to attend, non-students who feel a personal connection to Xavier or admire him may request an invitation but must be cleared by security first.

Press are invited but Xavier will not be taking any questions from the press or addressing them directly. This meeting is strictly for students and those who are close to Xavier. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Acting University President, Domanic Taylor.
