"Well that's no fun. Ever wish she'd let you?"

[Alex Carpenter]

Alex looked around the all-too-quite room. "Yeah, have to say that I have. Tried making a case for a dog a few times, but it never went over well."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Probably no room for them in the dorms, either."

[Alex Carpenter]

"Plus with, y'know, people around, it won't be so much of an issue," Alex said. "Probably a 'no pets' rule in the dorm anyway."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Yeah, probably safer. Not everyone can control their powers."

[Alex Carpenter]

"Plus with my luck, I'd bring a dog, and then they'd stick me rooming with Colin," Alex added with a smirk.

[Brigid Plunder]

"For all you know, he gets along just fine with dogs."

[Alex Carpenter]

"You can't just let me make a joke, can you?" Alex said with a grin.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Sorry. Knee jerk, I guess. I'm used to all sorts of weird looking people."

[Alex Carpenter]

"Nah, it's okay," he said, waving it off. "Probably wouldn't hurt me to knock it off some anyway."

[Brigid Plunder]

"If you think about it, that could be any of us, if our mutations progress."

[Alex Carpenter]

"Well yeah, but you know that if I looked like a cat, I'd be the first one making the cat-and-dog jokes, right?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"Knowing you so far? Probably. Not like Colin shies away from it, I guess."

[Alex Carpenter]

"Yeah, but his are probably more along the lines of 'And then I beat the pack of ravenous wolves with my pinky while my other arm was tied behind my back.'"

[Brigid Plunder]

"Sooooo sort of like the jokes you make about me," she teased.

[Alex Carpenter]

"Except you can do it," he countered with a wink.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Maybe he can too! It's not like I've tried beating him up or anything."

[Alex Carpenter]

"EH, I'd put my money on you," Alex said. "Let's just leave it untested, he's the Headmistress's son, after all."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Yeeeeah, and you never know who's going to take that as flirting."

[Alex Carpenter]

"Your friends still all twisted up about that mess?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"That seems to be clearing up, mostly. Less drama, at least?"

[Alex Carpenter]

Alex grinned. "I hope you're not getting used to 'less drama'."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Even 'less drama' is one hundred percent more drama than I'm used to."

[Alex Carpenter]

Alex chuckled. "SOmehow, I think we'll survive without drama."

[Brigid Plunder]

"You sure? How do I know that's not, like, the fuel you make your blue guys out of?"

[Alex Carpenter]

"Because I'm bored off my ass and I can still do it?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"I don't know how much drama you have stored up!"

[Alex Carpenter]

"I don't do drama! My mom's a lawyer! Drama does its best to stay away from me!"

[Brigid Plunder]

"Oh, so we should expect subpoenas in a week or so?" She grinned.

[Alex Carpenter]

"Eh, I'll make sure that exceptions get made for you," he joked, grinning back at her.
