"I'm not exactly happy, but being upset isn't exactly going to make them go away. And it could make them worse."

[Samantha McManus]

"Well then," Samantha says as she comes into the room, having changed her shirt and now sporting a pair of wings that look rather similar to Miranda's, "What have we decided on?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Halibut in cilantro butter?" Nailah suggests.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Sounds good to me. My muscles may be less sore, but I think I'm actually hungrier."

[Samantha McManus]

"Should hit the spot, aye."

[Nailah Weaver]

Some quick cooking later...

"There we go." Nailah says, putting everybody's plate on the table and pouring herself and Sam a glass of white wine.

[Miranda Weaver]

Miranda gets herself a glass of milk and settles down at the table, taking a minute to get comfortable. "Smells wonderful."

[Samantha McManus]

"You're starting to see why I got rid of the high-backed chairs after your mother moved in."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I can see how that would cause problems. I was going to ask for some more precognition practice, Mom, but after today, I'm kind of afraid to." Her tone indicated she wasn't entirely serious about that statement.

[Nailah Weaver]

"You're worried it might cause more thing like this?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"Maybe a little," she confessed.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Maybe we can try some other ways to channel it that doesn't rely so much on visualization for a while."

[Miranda Weaver]

She nodded, "I think I'm about visualized out for the moment."

[Samantha McManus]

"Aye. We seem to have hit the sweet spot on balancing out her defenses when we did that."

[Miranda Weaver]

"It was pretty cool, figuring out where things fit. Then, poof, wings."

[Nailah Weaver]

"One could make the argument that they're part of things fitting together, but it might just as well be a side-effect. And I'll admit I'm a little biased as to my opinion on having wings. But don't think that you have to keep them if it turns out this is due to shapeshifting." she smiles.

[Samantha McManus]

"Just have to play it by ear, aye?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"If it shapeshifting, we'll have to see. Some may depend on what Kay thinks."

[Samantha McManus]

She chuckles. "That much of a concern, aye?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"Well, she's had some stuff happen recently that she's kind of self-conscious about. I'd rather not add to it if she doesn't like the wings, you know?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"That's very considerate of you."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Before you give me too much credit, I like her. I really don't want to run her off, so it's not entirely about her."

[Samantha McManus]

"You ever get the impression that our daughter is far too mature?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"She's just lulling us into a false sense of security." she chuckles.

[Miranda Weaver]

"I haven't learned how to be a proper teenager yet, I guess."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Don't bother if you ask me. It's overrated." she smiles.
