The door opened and Miranda poked her head around. "Oh, hey, 'Uncle' Will. Come on in." She opened the door and moved out of the way. She was still wearing a training uniform, apparently just having come from the Danger Room or something.

"Hey there, Miranda. Have a good workout?" he smiled, entering the room.

"I've had better, but it's one of my favorite programs, so I can't begrudge it too much when it gets a little mean. Need any help with that?"

"Nah, I got it, I got it, 'tsall good!" he smiled, putting them down on the counter, and pulling out some very, very nice steaks.

Miranda's expressions had been getting harder to read since she'd gotten better at hiding them, but even she seemed a little surprised. "Everything going okay?"

"Oh, very much so. Things have been looking up, you know?"

He pulled out some more spices and ingredients and whatnot, and started spreading them over the counter.

"That's good. Did you and Sara still want me to babysit Robin on Friday night?" She went fishing in her bag for her spare set of clothes.

"Oh no, no. Just wanted to make sure before I laid in plans for the other evenings. I know you have a fluid schedule sometimes."

The sound of the front door opening and closing can be heard from the hallway and a moment later Nailah walks in from the living room.

"Will, what a pleasant surprise." she says, not sounding surprised in the slightest.

"Everything alright with Miranda?" Will said, indicating the quickly departing girl with a nod of his head.

"She's been having bit of a rough time with so many new people on campus. It's still a little overwhelming for her at times. She'll be alright."

"FIne, fine. Been busy setting up all the new stuff for the incoming students. Sam's speech was really good, by the by."

"Potato, Po-tah-to," Will said, picking up a potato and shifting a hand into a peeler. "I'm just saying, some people have more experience with fur than your standard, run-of-the-mill salon. Sometimes pride must be swallowed. Take it from me!"

"So you're having him clean drains now?" Miranda asked, her voice fairly even. She'd changed clothes and was holding her training uniform under one arm.

Miranda's eyes would narrow if she had eyes to narrow. "Maybe it'll come to you," she said, managing to keep most of the acid out of her tone. She stalked towards the front door to grab her stuff.
