"Oh yes, it was only something I occasionally spend some time looking into. Sometimes more, like when I tried to find ways of helping Regan or when I trapped the thing that Raven's friends set loose, but mostly I just kept my eyes open. Now I came across something tangible though and I think I'm close to really pulling something together."

Anyway, I didn't have high hopes because Roland is not exactly a scholar but he still managed to grab something of incredible value to someone who could piece it together." she says, rifling through her notes until she finds a drawing of the clay jar from all four sides, depicting the inscriptions on it.

"It's unfinished but I believe that this is a Shadow Urn, a paraphernalia that would have been used in a ceremony to legitimize a new pharaoh."

"Well, no. It's more of a ritual of apotheosis and that's not what I want. But I think I can adopt it. The urn is for guarding your Sheut and Ren so you can be free from worldly ties as you ascend to your spiritual state of Pharaoh. It's a powerful vessel and I think I can use it to hold more than that. All I need to do is to free myself from all ties just long enough to bind my Ka and Ba into an immortal Akh."

"No, at least not in the traditional sense or even the way Regan manifested. It's what passes into Duat after death, but the Ba returns to the body every night to merge with the Ka that remains in a properly preserved body. The life-force doesn't go away when you die, you are torn away from it. If I can create my Akh without dieing then I would remain tied to my body because death never separated them."
