Samantha smiled as she took her bags from the bellhop. She was dressed fairly conservatively in business attire, with her hair up. She'd just turned in her key at the front desk, and was ready to be on her way. Walking to the front door, she frowned as the knob simply wouldn't turn.

"...bloody thing's stuck," she muttered as she tried it again.

Just then a young woman with ash-blond hair enters through the other side of the double-sided door, letting it fall close behind her.

Samantha snorted. "...try the other one. Why didn't I think of that?"

[Nailah Weaver]

The woman shrugs and smiles politely as she walks past towards the reception. "You'd think they'd put a sign up."

[Samantha McManus]

"No worries," she shrugged before going to turn the other doorknob... which still wouldn't budge.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding..."

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah glances over her shoulder for a moment but is too distracted by checking in to pay too much attention.

Samantha grumbled irately before spinning on her heel and heading back towards the desk, leaving her bags near the door.

"Carry your bags, ma'am?"

The green haired boy seemed to pop out of nowhere.

[Samantha McManus]

Samantha looked to the bellhop.

"Someone rather needs to fix those doors. They seem to get stuck rather easily."

[Will Stanton]

"Well get someone on it right away, ma'am. Can I take your bags?"

[Samantha McManus]

There was an absent look on her face, as if she was trying to remember what she was cross about. Then, she nodded.

"That would be lovely," she said as she stepped up behind Nailah to get checked in.

[Nailah Weaver]

Key in hand Nailah turns around and almost bumps into Sam. "Oh, excuse me."

She takes a couple steps, then turns around, looking confused. "Weren't you just leaving?"

[Samantha McManus]

The question perplexed her for a moment, but a more certain look crept into her face.

"No, I think you must be mistaken."

[Nailah Weaver]

"But... your bags?" she says, looking after the bellboy carting them off.

[Samantha McManus]

"He's just taking them to my room," she said as she reached to the desk clerk for her key.

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah throws Sam a dubious look and then follows her own baggage.

Samantha tilted her head in confusion at the woman, not certain what was so strange as she had the key pressed into her palm. She turned it over in her hand for a moment, then went to the elevator as well.

Realizing they're going to be in the same cabin on an awkward ride up she figures she'll ignore the oddities for now.

"What brings you here then? Business?"

[Samantha McManus]

"There's a lecture being held locally that I wanted to attend."

[Nailah Weaver]

She nods. "Just passing through myself."

[Samantha McManus]

"Bit far from home, eh?" She asked, noting the woman's accent.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Needed a change of scenery." she says, rifling through her purse until she fishes out a cigarette and lighter.

[Samantha McManus]

"I'm being rude, I'm afraid. Samantha McManus."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Nailah Weaver. Pleased to meet you."

[Samantha McManus]

"Have to admit, I didn't really think of this as a place for tourists."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Suppose I'm not your average sight-seeing tourist."

[Samantha McManus]

"That sounds like a story," she said with a faint chuckle as the elevator stopped.

"Looks like this is my floor."

[Nailah Weaver]

"You'd think so." she smiles politely, stepping aside to let Sam leave the elevator.

"Perhaps I'll see you around," she said as she stepped out into the hallway.
