"So maybe it was housekeeping. But I'm not sure if that would make me feel any better..."

[Samantha McManus]

"I'm not... sure if I have any reassurances for you."

[Nailah Weaver]

"It probably just was a misunderstanding..." With some coffee and the light of the morning the shadows of the night seem to lift a little.

[Samantha McManus]

"...aye. Nothing... nothing dangerous."

[Steve Jones]

"...you shouldn't trust the staff..." he said quietly.

[Nailah Weaver]

"They're just doing their job..." she says, though Steve insisting on how weird the place is and the night seemingly proving him right are scratching at her mind and it finds it's way into her voice.

[Steve Jones]

"Clearly you haven't met The Twins," he said, "Those guys are seriously mega-creepy."

[Samantha McManus]

"Seems quite a few of the staff are family..."

[Nailah Weaver]

"The twins? You mean the bellboy and waitress?"

[Steve Jones]

"Uh-uh, I'm pretty sure they're triplets at least. I mean the security guards."

[Samantha McManus]

"A place like this needs guards?"

[Steve Jones]

"I told you this place was weird, didn't I? And Miss Weaver was robbed last night."

[Samantha McManus]

Samantha cringed a bit at Steve's vehemence.

"R-right..."

[Nailah Weaver]

"So I shouldn't talk to the staff about it? What if they come back?"

[Steve Jones]

"You can. Just..." he said, trailing off as he looked across the ballroom nervously.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Just what?"

[Samantha McManus]

She quirked a brow at Steve's conspiratorial air.

[Madrox Saavedra]

"Mr. Jones isn't spinning his tall tales again is he?" a man in a guard's uniform asked as he neared, chuckling. He sounded friendly, but somehow... not. It was his cold, dead eyes. His nameplate read 'F. Saavedra.'

[Nailah Weaver]

"No no, we were just talking about... something I must have misplaced." she says. She was going to tell him that someone stole something from her room but something about the man's demeanor makes her change her mind mid-sentence.

[Samantha McManus]

"...aye, no worries."

[Madrox Saavedra]

"Have you tried the Lost & Found?" he asked with a smile that brought to mind a hungry predator pretending to be a man.

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah (almost) suppresses a shudder. "N-not yet, no."

[Samantha McManus]

"...I'm sure it will turn up," she mumbled.

[Madrox Saavedra]

"Be sure to check," he smiled, "Nothing here is truly lost."

His radio squawked something.

"I should get going. You folks have a nice day." He tipped his hat and walked out, whistling a tune.

[Steve Jones]

As the man disappeared out of view, Steve was visibly relieved. Incredibly so.

"Just... that."

[Samantha McManus]

"....aye," she said as she let out a breath.

[Steve Jones]

"And there's two of him."
