Samantha sat at the bar in the ballroom, sipping a glass of red wine.

Every so often her mind would flash to what she'd just washed off.

She rubbed her shoulder.

It still didn't quite feel clean.

Nailah comes into the room, not quite hurried but certainly agitated. Spotting Sam she walks over to her.

"Miss McManus! When you look out the window, what do you see?"

Samantha sat up and, feeling that a hair was out of place, hastily tucked it back in.

"...I'm sorry, what?"

"I got my book back. Or maybe it's not even mine. Someone left it on my doorstep and ran off and there way a key inside and the cover had..." she lifts it up to show Sam, though there's just the same empty window it had before. "It... there was someone in the window earlier..."

"And there wasn't... no." She stopped herself.

She twitches nervously. Steve had insisted on it being a something too.

"I... think I met it too." she says carefully. "It was just sitting there but I couldn't see it's face. It was hiding behind a comic that... it was soaked. I... I think it was blood."

"It... sniffed at me. It was like... an animal. Just huge and heaving and hot and... and physical... And it got something on me..." Her voice quavered before she took another drink.

Nailah shrinks back a bit, something about the description making her uncomfortable. Something in the back of her head, something about--- and it's gone, only leaving the vague aftertaste of something disgusting.
