She nods and holds up the strange key. Waiting for Steve to sit down she opens the top of his head.

Inside is a small, two-story house surrounded by a fenced in yard. The scene is illuminated by an unseen moon and, though night, all is visible. A tiny Steve hopped the fence and made his way to a vine-covered wooden lattice against a wall of the house. He reached for it and jerked his hand back as a crawling thing too small to identify crawled out of the woodwork and back in.

"Yeah, I... I think so..." he answered. He sounded nervous.

Tiny Steve moved over, away from the threatening insect... or whatever it was... and began to climb. At the top, he...

"No... don't go in there..." Steve muttered fearfully.

Tiny Steve opened a window and crawled inside.

"I don't remember..."

The roof vanished to reveal the top floor, but all but the room tiny Steve was in were pitch black. The revealed room appeared to be a boy's messy bedroom, decorated by posters of rock bands and college football teams. Just when he started getting into bed...

"Please... don't..." a small voice pleaded. A woman's voice.

Steve was terrified to see any more, but he felt compelled to remember.

Tiny Steve stopped abruptly and listened. In a moment he grabbed a baseball bat that was propped in a corner and went into the upstairs hall. The bedroom darkened as the hall became visible, and the house was suddenly the whole of the mental construct.

"Now isn't that better? Nice and quiet..." a cruel male voice said in a mocking tone that tried to seem pleasant. The voice was all too familiar to the two women. Steve's eyes widened.

A shiver runs down Nailah's spine and she freezes up. "Wh-who is that?" she mumbles, nervously wringing her hands.

She doesn't say anything. It's Steve's head after all. Though right now she very much regrets she didn't flush her fear down the drain when she had the chance.

Tiny Steve reached the top of the stairs, and went down a few. As he peered through the railing, the top floor vanished. In the living room a dark haired woman was seated on the couch, facing away from the stairs. From above, they could see that she was bound and her mouth was taped. The vague yet imposing form of a man hovered over someone bound to an armchair, beginning to whistle a tune as he worked at some foul task.

The observers caught a glimpse of the victim's face. The dead man's eyes are...

...gone.

Nailah doesn't really notice that last detail because she already recoils at the sight of the figure, getting up and pressing her back against the closet, heart hammering in her chest.
