Age: 30
Country of Origin: India (dual citizenship with United Kingdom)
Position: Professor of Economics & Political Science (and sometime substitute teacher for the high schoolers)
Power: Mahua is an elephant-shifter. She is capable of assuming two forms:
- A full-size Indian elephant standing approximately 10 feet at the shoulder and weighing around 7,500 pounds. In this form, her abilities equate to the limitations of an Indian elephant of the same size.
- A bizarre half-form resembling a humanoid elephant complete with trunk. Her strength in this form is significantly superhuman, but the added bulk she puts on makes her very clumsy. In this form, she stands approximately 8 feet tall and weighs in at around 500-750 lbs (the weight variation has never been explained).
Personality: Mahua can be a somewhat passionate individual and very much about what will do the "most good".
Description: Mahua is tall for a native of India, something she blames on her British father much like her blue eyes. Her mother's heritage is obvious everywhere else though from her skin tone to her typical choice of dress. She wears glasses almost constantly.
Background: Mahua is the daughter of a British businessman and an Indian woman. She was born in Mumbai and raised there for much of her life. When her abilities emerged, her parents engaged a private tutor to finish her schooling and help her with her abilities.
Her college work was done at Jawaharlal Nehru University where she graduated with honors. While there, she developed a passion for working against the marginilization of mutants in developing countries. She's taken a teaching position at Xavier's in hopes of infecting others with that passion so that they might go out and do some good. She doesn't have her Ph.D. yet and is planning on finishing that in the United Kingdom.
