Alan Mason

Name: Alan Mason (X-Corp File Designation: "Receiver")
Age: 16
Country of Origin: United Kingdom
Hometown: London, England

Power: Alan can perceive various communication frequencies (wireless network signals, cellphone signals, etc). By focusing on a specific signal, his brain can render the content for him to see. For example, he could focus on the signal from a wireless webcam and view the video that the webcam is transmitting. With close physical proximity (a few inches), he can do the same with wired signals.

Alan sometimes, without conscious thought, diverts those signals. This may cause strange occurences like text messages sending to the wrong phone or phone calls dropping. He has done this on purpose a few times, but he's still practicing. X-Corp believes that he may grow into the ability to manipulate the signals on a more advanced scale.

Personality: Alan can seem kind of spacey at times, mostly due to seeing the frequencies. He's a sweet guy though, and maybe more than a little bit geeky.

Description: Alan has a mop of constantly touseled brown hair and glasses. Funnily enough, his mutation isn't affected by his otherwise bad vision. He can still see the frequencies and their contents just fine without the glasses. He tends to dress somewhat stereotypically, sometimes even resorting to a bowtie.

Background: Alan grew up in Lambeth or "Mutant Town" as it's popularly called. Being the normal-looking child of physically obvious mutants was difficult for the entire family and it set Alan up for a great deal of bullying from both normals and other mutants. Not possessing his purple-skinned mother's invisibility or his tentacle-haired father's impressive strength, he was an easy target.

That isn't to say he was entirely powerless to strike back. Embarrassing photos began texting to the wrong phones, certain phone calls failed to get through, the sort of juvenile pranks that can temporarily derail any high schooler's social life. It was the rash of pranks that finally brought him to X-Corp's attention. With such a potentially destructive (in it's own way) gift, they highly recommended that his parents transfer him to the Institute in Maldon.

Approval 2/2, because ASHLIE needs more friends who aren't Riot.
