Power: Maya has the ability to transmute her body’s mass into a vaporous state. She is limited in the amount of mass that her actual body has, but while she is in this state she can alter her density and shape almost effortlessly.

The gas is a dark blue color that smells faintly of cinnamon. It is non-toxic, but it is an anesthetic. Prolonged exposure can result in unconsciousness and temporary paralysis.

A minor side effect of her ability is that Maya seems to not require oxygen.

Description: Maya is around 5’5” with a slim build. She has brown, short hair and brown eyes. She wears modest fashions that she keeps impeccably clean and in good condition. The colors are always coordinated.

History: Maya’s mother was a patent lawyer and her father was a sound engineer. They met under circumstances too ridiculous to relate, fell in love, and had four children, of which Maya is the youngest. She grew up in a loving, happy, and supportive home surrounded by a family who loved her very much.

When Maya was ten years old, her mother discovered that the girl was self-harming to “punish” herself for minor mistakes in schoolwork and other activities. Maya was diagnosed with an obsessive compulsive disorder. She suffers from anxieties surrounding her social interactions that she believes can only be alleviated by a constant obsession with perfecting various behaviors.

It was during a regular session with her therapist that her mutant abilities were discovered. Maya was in the middle of a calming exercise when she suddenly evaporated and was sucked into an air vent. She was discovered an hour later on the roof, solid once again and in the middle of a severe panic attack that ended with her hospitalized for several days. During her hospitalization XI approached her parents about having her continue her education on campus and they agreed that the campus might be the best place for her.
