Power: Vertie is an animal empath and possible animal telepath, her known mutant power allows her to emotionally connect with animals, calming them and befriending them. Whether the majority of this ability is based on lifetime of living around wild animals, feral and animal shifter mutants and has an understanding of animal verbal/non-verbal communication or a form of human-animal telepathy has yet to be determined. Thus far, Vertie's communication has been limited to mammals, primarily with cats, dogs, raccoons, squirrels and other wildlife as well as certain more "wild" member of the Circle. It is unknown if she can speak with non-mammal types of animal life (such as insects or fish).

Enhanced Healing: Unlike Gar's accelerated healing, Vertie only has a form of rapid healing which enables her heal noticeably faster than an ordinary human. Wheres an average human would take weeks to heal from a broken bone, Vertie takes only days.

Superhuman Agility: Vertie's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels beyond the human body's natural limits, even those of the finest human athlete.

Superhuman Reflexes: Vertie's reflexes are similarly enhanced and were superior to those of the finest human athlete.

Fighting Skills: Some hand to hand training, the Circle required females to know how to defend themselves, but never to directly fight, she is also highly skilled with firearms, taught by her brother.


Personality: Vertie is devoted to her brother, though not nearly as much as her brother is to her. Vertie is outgoing and friendly and eager to "spread her wings". She does try to be close at hand to Gar, just in case something does manage to set him off.

Description: Vertie only stands at a petite 5'2" with Heterochromia that effects her eye and hair color. Her hair is usually parted down the middle enhancing her Heterochromia. her Dark brown side this her green eye and her white blonde hair with her brown eye.

Background: Vertie was born and raised within the confines of the Circle, a commune/cult of mutants with animal-like abilities. With Vertie's father being the leader of the Pride she was spared the custom culling of non-animal "blessed" children and due to her unique ability to calm and communicate with animals and the other less controlled members of the Circle, she was honored shortly after her 13th birthday to be "adopted/married" to one of the higher ranking members of the Circle hierarchy. After leaving she and Gar spent a handful of years living off the land and slowly moving southeast towards New York and finally finding their way to the combined campus of XI/XU.
