Power Explanation: Daniel is a fire-based power-mimic. With skin contact, he can absorb the power of another living being, replicating it as a fire-based power. Optic beams become heat vision, energy projection becomes fire projection, psychic abilities take on some sort of ‘burning’ aspect. Physical mutations generally are unable to be replicated. If a power is incompatable (usually non-energy based) the power-sync fails.

Daniel has been able to maintain a handful of power sets and merge them together for new effects. In his base state, Daniel has a limited ability to generate flame. It may take him some time to work up to maintaining high-output powers for long periods of time again.

Currently, Daniel is holding no power sets in order to clear his energy field of the alien energies he absorbed in space.

History: Daniel was created on Genosha in a laboratory. He was incubated and intended as another test subject for experiments, but was liberated before that became an issue. He fell in first with the Accolytes of Magneto, who had liberated him. He later fell in with Mystique and the Brotherhood, after Genosha’s destruction, before settling back in with the Accolytes, which was when he encountered the X-Men in England.

His ties to his former partners became strained in the ensuing year, and after a trip into space with the X-Men, on his return he found himself aiding members of the former X-Force team in North America as they continue to work against the Mutant Registration forces. Power fluctuations (and a growing strain between him and members of the team) led him to leave to come back to Maldon where he could have his powers studied and (hopefully) stabilized. Also, he hoped, he would have the opportunity to figure out just where, if anywhere, he belonged, once and for all.

Personality: Daniel is (fittingly) hot-tempered and quick to confrontation. He is zealously pro-mutant, to the point of causing strain with some more even-minded mutants. He looks at himself as a soldier, and the world as a battlefield, with humans on one side and mutants on the other. Open warfare isn’t always the choice, naturally… but at least a cold war is always in effect.
