After her task list for the morning was done, Miranda was sitting with Theresa brushing the older woman's hair. The ritual seemed to soothe Theresa and gave Miranda a chance to check Theresa's mental state without telling her that was what she was doing. Theresa was humming softly to herself, snatches of various songs in no particular order.

After a bit of work, Miranda seemed confused and Theresa picked up on it. "Is Brigid back?"

"Not that I've seen, but I've been busy this morning."

"Oh," Theresa said, "She was gone a long time."

"Yes, it was good to see her again. Do you remember her?"

"Sort of. I know she's important."

"Yeah, she's the Princess of the Savage Land."

"No, not like that. She's... important. I don't remember how."

"Well, it is good to have her around again. You seem better since you saw her."

"I feel a little better, yeah," Theresa said with a smile. Miranda for her part, just seemed more perplexed.

"They're not back yet." Jennifer announces when she steps into the room, apparently having missed the earlier exchange.

"I'm considering going out to look for them. Any idea where they might be?"

Miranda got distant, her physical motions slowing down as her mind ran into the future. "I don't think they're still at the tower. Maybe one of the other zoo-things in town? It's hard to tell at this distance."

Theresa startles and Miranda pats her shoulder gently, remaining distant. "Don't worry. It's nothing bad."

Coming down from the roof is Brigid, looking like she's been through a few miles of bad road. Welts from insect bites and stings, a bit of spiderweb still in her hair, but she doesn't seem to be in bad spirits.

Vertie moved in through the lower brush, the spider webbing the only indication that she and Brigid came from the same location. "If I hadn't stopped to feed the squirrel patrol I would have won." She smiled.

"She's...cold...distant...a little aggresive, but the people there are safe and doing well. She's willing to work with us for now." Vertie said as she handed Theresa a small wrapped bundle of dried fruit. "For Mister Monkey."

Miranda tracked Theresa's movements, "Well, best to leave her alone, if she's actually taking care of the people. No sense in stirring up an actual hornets' nest."

The monkey was creeping up on Brigid, wide eyed and in awe of her 'mane' and furs.

"She very defensive and swarms are royal pains in the ass. Like I said, she is willing to work with us and her focus seems to be on the welfare of the people who've come to her and not on control and domination."

"Well," she said, looking over in the direction that Theresa had wandered off. "I think with the three of you," she said, "we might be able to do something for Theresa. Just seeing Brigid has already moved some marbles around." She looked sympathetically at Jennifer, "I know you don't like being in her head, but I'd need you to go in so I could keep her calm."
