On The Road Again

[John Hino]

John pushed his way through the undergrowth, clawing a vine out of his way.

"God... If the mainland was like this I'd still be in Germany," he commented.

(for Vivienne or whoever might come across them)

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Land travel has become cumbersome, but St. Paul's is along my river, we are still heading in the correct direction." Vivienne carefully cleared a section of jungle.

[John Hino]

"I'm glad you're with me. I'd be thoroughly lost about now."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Being bound to the Themes has its advantages." She smiled.

[John Hino]

"As does having a sword. My club is pretty useless outside of a fight."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I may be able to do something about that. I know your heritage is Asian and it may take some bribery to get something more suited to your island then of mine. Dwarves can be very stubborn in their craft, but something can be made."

[John Hino]

"I actually have some Norwegian blood too. So anything a dwarf could make would fit me just fine."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Your size would suit a broadsword. They would be delighted to make a blade again. They are happy to be working, but repair and structure rebuilding is not their true passion." She smiled.

[John Hino]

"Well then who am I to deny a craftsman a chance to practice their gift?" he smirked.

"I know I'd love a chance at mine."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Your craft is?" She asked in genuine interest.

[John Hino]

"I'm skilled with electronic devices. Building them, programming them, and so on. Sadly the world is too busy transitioning to something else to provide me that opportunity."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"The materials are still around." She smiled then looked thoughtful. "If we can find Ashlie or enough of her drones...do you understand how she functions?"

[John Hino]

"I'm one of the few that she'd trust to repair her, yes," he nodded.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Then we have a secondary mission while we are at the school."

[John Hino]

"Repairing ASHLIE could help right some of the dimensional damage, if her role can be restored."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Perhaps and even if not, being able to simply revive her will add another ally and friend to our ranks. That will be a boon unto itself."

[John Hino]

"Indeed," he smiled.

"How much further do you think St. Paul's is?"

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Not too far, an hour perhaps, we should angle away from the river now, northeast." She pointed and turned slightly north.

(We can hop forward.)

[John Hino]

Before too long they could see the cathedral ahead of them through the foliage.

"I expect she'll make telepathic contact any moment now."

[Miranda Weaver]

The sensation of being watched settled onto them, followed by a thought that they both could sense. "Vivienne... is that John with you?"

[John Hino]

"Hello Miranda," John thought back.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Good to see you, John. How can I help you?"

[John Hino]

"I'm trying to find my wife and sister."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I haven't seen them, not in the jungle at any rate. But we'll do what we can to help you. I would send someone to meet you, but everyone else is busy right now and I can't leave. Just keep making for the cathedral and we'll go from there."

[John Hino]

"It will be better to speak in person, yes."
