Perching On The Edge Of Tomorrow

[Miranda Weaver]

The night before the group was to leave for the school, Miranda couldn't sleep. So she stood at the edge of the roof of the hideout, looking out at the stars and the moon. The feathers in her wings rustled in a soft breeze, catching the light and shimmering slightly. She sighed, "How did you do this, Mum?"

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I have found myself asking the very same thing, many times." Vivienne said as she slowly approached. "May I join you?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"Of course," Miranda said, "But shouldn't you be resting up for tomorrow? You have to take quite a few people a long way."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I am finding that the cleaner the Thames is, the stronger I become. I also thought that we may have similarities of situation and that I may be of use as someone to talk to."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I... It's just a lot to live up to. Mum and Will sent teams out to handle things and made it look so easy. Now, I'm sending a team out. Even if they all volunteered, that's how it still feels. And if something happens to them, it'll feel like my fault."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"We both do. I believe you will always feel responsible, it is who you are. We know full well whom we serve and whom we follow. If you loose one of us, or all of us, mourn as you should, but do not dwell. We choose to go, we choose to fight."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Easier said than done. I don't even have the comfort of good foresight to cling to."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Now you know how us mere mortals feel." Vivienne smiled.

[Miranda Weaver]

"That's where I miss Mom. She had... has... has... better long-range foresight than I do. She'd be able to see the ends of this."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"She was also, in my opinion, the vessel for the Battle Crow. Her domain is the battle field. You may not have that blessing, but you have become a beacon. You have brought us to this one place. Now, you have to trust us."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I do trust you, I really do. Doesn't stop me from worrying."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"The only solution to that is for you to stop caring for us. I do not advise it." She smiled and placed a hand on Miranda's shoulder.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Take care of them, Viv. Bring them back safe. I can't do this by myself." She reached up to put her hand on Vivienne's.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"None of us could and we're not going to let you try either. I will leave no one behind."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I'll hold you to that," Miranda said with a soft smile.
