September 6th - First night on the town

Located on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennia. The low-income borough of Lambeth has been largely taken over by London's mutant population and is now known as Mutant Town.

"High praise," Ryan chuckled. "I could be upset not getting a ten, but... well, I'll save that effort for more important things."

Veronica lets out a laugh. "Fair enough. I assume you will be saving zat effort for dancing?" She half-jokes, finishing her meal and folding the napkin carefully to the side of the plate.

Ryan gave her an odd look. "Really? Why's that?" he asked, pushing his own finished plate aside.

He nodded. "Around the corner, up a couple blocks. Why, do you just want to walk? Give yourself some time to contemplate your prize?" He asked, holding the door as they walked out.

"Hm, if zat is how you normally do eet, zen very well. I trust you." Veronica says. Adjusting her jacket a bit, she slings her purse around her shoulder so she knows it won't fall. "Roof access?" She asks, wondering how exactly he actually gets in or if he just drops right in front of the door.

"No, no, nothing like that." He shrugged out of his jacket. "You told me you wanted me to be myself tonight. That being the case? Here's one little fact you need to get used to." He put his jacket around her on her shoulders, then stretched his arms as his wings coalesced on his back, the shirt apparently being one made to accommodate them. "Sometimes, you just have to make a flashy entrance," he said with a grin, holding his arm out to her.

"Zis is going to be...interesting." Veronica pulls his coat around her and steps forward to his offered arm. There is a definite smile on her face and it's quite obvious she's looking forward to the flight. The publicity? May be a bit different for her to get used to.

The flight was short, two blocks being a rather fast trip by wing. Ryan didn't take them too high or fast, though, not with a one-armed grip around her waist. Fairly soon they were landing in front of a club announcing itself as The Glow, to much gawking and not a phew phone cameras beeping.

Ryan apparently knew the man at the door, though, and they were let through, Ryan slipping the guy a tip as they passed. Inside, the music hit them a bit harder than the neon glow of... Well, everything. It was literally a colorful location, and she'd probably be able to pick out an obvious mutant or two among the crowd.

The various beeps of the camera phones made her withdraw a bit, trying her best to (as per her usual) make herself look small and unimportant. Once they enter and she sees the various people including a few obvious mutants, she relaxes substantially.

"I did not sink such acceptance was so possible." She says, leaning towards him as she spoke so she didn't have to yell over the loud music.

"We kind of took it over," he answered in kind. "We made for good press our first visit, and people for some reason don't like to make trouble in a club where superheroes are known to hang out. Double bonus. Don't know if he really likes mutants or if he just knew a good bandwagon to jump on, but it doesn't really matter." Ryan checked their jackets as they went in. "Thirsty? Or do you just want to dance?" He asked, giving her a wicked smile.

Ryan just smiled at her answer. The bar was a little quieter than by the dance floor. Ryan, as was (now) usual for him, ordered a martini, then slid his card across to the bartender while letting Veronica order.

Speaking with the bartender, she orders a B&B on the rocks. As their drinks are made, she leans again to talk to Ryan. "Zis place feels very open and welcome. I haf to say, eet is actually most impressive. Nosing like zee clubs in Nice."

With his hand on her back, she smiles and answers. "If you could actually get inside, eet was always packed. People shoulder to shoulder and zey were so rude. A lot off drug use as well. Zat is part off zee scene a lot when it comes to clubbing as off late, I suppose. Zee drinks were well oferpriced and not quality. Basically eet was...erm...how do you say..." She tries to come up with the word.
