The Cat Is In The Bag

[Allison Rogers]

Once they were outside, Allison covered the phone for a moment, "I'm just going to have them grab some of your stuff out of my place. That alright?"

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Fine by me," she nods.

[Allison Rogers]

After a crazy amount of time, the situation was finally handled and a driver dropped them off at their hotel. Once they were back in their room, Allison sagged onto the couch. "Fucker's lucky I didn't rip his head off."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Says the woman that let me threaten him," she chuckles.

[Allison Rogers]

"He feels like he has leverage over me. I figured he didn't have any over you, so it would work better."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"So you're going to take my laptop away if I try to investigate the name he gave us this weekend, aren't you?"

[Allison Rogers]

"I plan to keep you so busy you won't be able to. Of course, what you do when I'm asleep is your own business."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"You say that like you're not going to have a death-grip on me in bed."

[Allison Rogers]

"I probably am," she confessed. "Someone was pointing a gun at you today and it was my fault."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Oh please, the man picked on the wrong women."

[Allison Rogers]

"No argument on that, but still, it feels a bit weird. I know you can take care of yourself and you're way better at taking care of yourself than I could ever be." She ran her hands across her eyes, "I think the stress is making me ramble."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"We've plenty of time to get you relaxed before the show," she says, sitting down next to Allison and putting an arm around the woman.

[Allison Rogers]

She leaned into Dee, "At least the cops have him now. I'll have to keep tabs on whether they extradite him or not."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"And now that he's played his hand, there'll be a great deal of scrutiny on how he got out."

She brings her hand up to rub the back of Allison's neck.

[Allison Rogers]

"Kidnapping, attempted murder... trespassing... he's really racked them up this time." She relaxed.

[Deirdre Quinn]

"The gun charges alone would put him away for awhile."

[Allison Rogers]

"One can only hope. I'd really like to not have to deal with his shit anymore."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"We can go back to fairies and minotaurs, if you like."

[Allison Rogers]

"I'll pass. Maybe some of your dark past will come back to haunt us," she joked.

[Deirdre Quinn]

"If Wisdom shows up, he's sleeping on the couch."

[Allison Rogers]

"If Wisdom shows up, can I punch him? I still owe him for some stuff from last Spring."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"I'd look the other way."

"Then laugh uncontrollably."

[Allison Rogers]

"That sounds like a go then," she said, smiling and rising. "I think I'm going to go work on getting ready for tonight."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"I have it on good authority that you clean up well."

[Allison Rogers]

"You'll just have to wait and see," she said with a smile as she left the room.

[Deirdre Quinn]

"If this place catches fire while you're showering, I blame you!" She calls after Allison.

[Allison Rogers]

After a prodigious amount of time, Allison came back out dressed in a dress in black and gold that Dee had only caught glimpses of in Allison's closet. She took a turn, "What do you think?"

[Deirdre Quinn]

"...I think I am woefully unprepared for this night."

[Allison Rogers]

"You're in luck then," she said, going back into the bedroom and returning with a second dress in navy and silver, "I know you're not a dress person, but this seemed like it would look good on you."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"If the lady insists, I'll do my best," she says with a good-natured smirk.

[Allison Rogers]

"I don't insist you wear it, but at least try it on," Allison said with a chuckle.

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Still, I'm feeling dreadfully shabby so I should at least make the effort."

[Allison Rogers]

"Bathroom's all yours. I even cleaned it up a bit."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"So you can be trained," she smirks, taking the dress and heading in to get cleaned up and changed.

While Dee got ready, Allison busied herself with making sure the tickets were in the right place, that she knew where the theater was and several other things.
