A woman in a black skirt, blazer, and white blouse perks up as Will and his team approach the barricades. With a sheaf of papers under her arm, she quickly walks towards them, heels clicking on the pavement.

"Glad you could make it so quickly, Mister Stanton. Agent Charity Greaves, MI-13."

She holds out a hand to shake Will's.

"If you disrupt that imitation, as someone inevitably does, the creatures quickly turn violent."

Beyond the barricade things are quiet for the moment, but cracked pavement, dented cars, and scorchmarks on a few walls tell a different story.

Kara hops over the barricade and follows Will, eyes wandering over the scorchmarks as the energy ribbons clinging to her lower arms like bracers slowly unfurl into spirals hovering around her arms.

There's a rustling between two houses, about a hundred yards beyond the barricades.

"There! Go around, go around," Will whispered, pointing with four or five hands to indicate where the rest of the team should go.

For his part, Will started heading between the two houses directly.

Kara nods and runs off to circle around the street the noises are coming from.

The first thing Will spots is a cat, rummaging through a rubbish bin. As his eyes adjust to the space between the houses he spies the silhouette of a large humanoid figure, kneeling down. By the body language it seems to be putting a finger to its lips to shush the cat.

"Hey there," Will said, despite knowing it was probably useless against a 'mindless one'. "Let's come on out here into the open, alright?" he said, slowly approaching.

The figure looks up from the cat to Will. As he starts to see it clearer it becomes evident that it doesn't have a face, per se. Just a gaping hole in the front of its head, with coruscating energy glowing within. The creature does seem to have tried to pull on some well-worn clothes, but they clearly don't fit and the coat has ripped at the shoulder seams.

It pauses for a moment, not sure what to make of Will.

It makes a noise that sounds like a low moan. Or perhaps several moans, almost in harmony. Then, it almost seems to speak.

"KAWF-FEE.... OHH KAAAAAYYY..."

It takes a couple lumbering steps towards Will. The cat scatters.

"Alright, come on, come on," Will said, hoping MI13 had brought some kind of containment unit, like an armored truck, they could deposit the One in if a fight DIDN'T break out, somehow

...or at least, luring it into the open street in case combat DID start to occur, as he took slow, measured steps backwards.

Kara is smart enough to shut her mouth at that, realizing the mistake she might have made and slowly backing away with raised hands, palms pointing at the thing.

Then it looks to Will, then back and forth between the two.
