Ryan jumped, giving his wings a flap to carry him out of her range, spinning in the air to blast her, aiming for her head. Gotta give her a stop... Gotta... wait, something isn't right here. The nagging thought made him frown, but he kept it up, knowing he had to keep everyone alive through this.

I hate meat. Meat tastes yucky. I am an X-man, I hate meat. Chloe told herself as she walked out of her cell. Some of the weak ones, like Kay, had slipped out, and she was determined to do her best to keep them safe. Slowly, trying not to look scary, she headed towards Kay.

Whether his blast hits or not quickly becomes irrelevant for Ryan's immediate future as Nailah bursts from the foliage to tackle him mid-air.

All Kay sees is a feathered dinosaur walking up to her and she lets out a sharp scream before running off in the opposite direction, not paying much attention which way she's actually going.

John went armored and slipped between the trees like an animated shadow, looking for a ~~dark place from which to ambush prey~~ way out. He was trying to avoid the others for fear of hurting them, but was beginning to have difficulty remembering even that. His long suppressed feral instincts were boiling now.

And he was hungry.

"What the hell!" Ryan shouted, obviously surprised, as he tried to twist in the air to throw Nailah off. Sadly he didn't have enough altitude or speed to manage it, so he settled for trying to pulse energy through her.

There's something that's almost ferociously pushing back against it for a moment, but then she drops him, shakily trying to gain some altitude as she tries to shake the drowsiness from her limbs and head.

Chloe saw that John was making his own way out, so she followed after Kay, wishing that she could talk in this shape, and reminding herself, yet again, that she hated meat, meat was disgusting, and she was trying to protect Kay.

"Go away, go away, nonono." she looks around frantically for a way to maybe climb onto the cage she's pushing her back against.

Maybe if I can convince her I"m not going to eat her. Eat her. No, no, I hate meat, meat is bad, I hate meat. Chloe thought I'm an X-man, protect the innocent. I hate meat. Maybe if I don't look scary. How can I....maybe if I do it like Buster did when he was in trouble.... Chloe lowered her head and slowly, carefully approached Kay.

Oh god... Why isn't Brigid here? She'd know what to do... I mean she had a dino pet for crying out loud! But... that means they're not all mean... And this one doesn't look nasty...

She's still shaking a little, but telling herself that Brigid wouldn't be scared she manages to hold out her hand like you would to a dog. And now that she was actually looking at it it almost seemed more like a big bird really.

Steph's charge was unproductive against her flying foe, doubly so after he started to tangle with Nailah.

Fighting an epic battle inside herself to tame her wild half against pretty terrifying--to her human side at least--urges, Stephanie fell to her knees and let out a blood curling howl.

Which she did, almost out of reflex. "You... you don't want to eat me." she says carefully, trying to figure out what this thing even is. Hadn't she read something about dinos with feathers? Or had Brigid told her?

Somewhere near the fighting, John's dark shape, a mere hazy silhouette in the fog, now crouched in the shadow of a large tree. Armored, only his breath would betray his scent.

Stephanie remained hunched over on the ground, her muzzle pressed into the dirt and her claws digging into the earth, fighting back the rage...the hunger. She pushed herself upwards, baring her fangs as she gazed hungrily towards the dinosaur and her fish friend...

Mad with instinct and seeing an opening, John barreled out of the trees and straight for the distracted werewolf.

John attempted to ram directly into Steph with brutal force, trying to send her flying against a tree.

Steph was flying through the air with considerable force herself, so John's charge mostly stopped her dead in her tracks and pushed him backwards slightly. They were now locked in a grapple, and Steph used the close quarters to try and clamp down with her jaws onto his shoulder.

The bite against his armor accomplished nothing beyond ruining John's shirt and making Steph's teeth hurt. He released an angry, growling hiss and his own jaws snapped for her. If the bite connected, it would be horrifyingly, crushingly strong. Thankfully, he retained just enough of himself to not go for her throat.

She nods and follows Chloe. Part of her wants to ask if she can ride on her back just so she can tell Brigid about it later, but that part is screamed down by the much louder one that's telling her that she should run run run away and hide, much less climb on a dinosaur's back!

Stephanie was fast, but not quite fast enough. She brought her arm up to block and scratch at John's eyes after her own failed bite and wound up with her forearm locked in the dragon's maw, blood pouring forth through her fur and out of John's mouth. She let out a piercing howl of pain.

Ryan stopped trying to figure out what to do when his eyes zeroed in on Steph and John. "Hey!" He rushed forward in a swift flap of wings, sending a blast of energy at both of them. He was rather sure he could do something, given a moment, to bring Steph back to her senses, but John... that was going to be trickier.

The blast did seem to help Stephanie, at least for a moment. A moment where she realized how much her arm hurt., so she tried to wrench free with a knee to the groin.

"John! Get the fuck off me!" she snarled.

Even with his armor, the knee definitely hurt, as evidenced by John letting go with wide eyes. His armor was still sizzling from Ryan's blast as he moved back and roared with rage, Steph's fresh blood flying from his mouth.

Meanwhile Nailah has managed to shake the numbing feeling from her limbs and head. She twists around and goes into a dive legs first, aiming for Ryan's back to drive him into the ground.

Steph whipped around at the sound of Nailah's decent and snarled at Ryan.

"Behind you!"

Her left arm somewhat out of commission, she kept it close to her body, the blood staining the whitish fur of her stomach and chest. She looked back and forth between Nailah and John, struggling to restrain her other half which was enraged, starving, and desperate to reassert full control over her.

And with the sudden feel of claws in his back, Ryan learned his lesson for thinking Nailah was out of the fight. He let out a cry as he went down under her, his wings spasming as he felt the claws tearing into his back.

Nailah immediately leaps forward, possibly just to avoid another pulse like earlier, not being too considerate about pushing herself off of Ryan's back as she throws herself at Steph.

Nailah takes a tumble and lands in a crouch, sliding on a ground a bit. Looking at the gash on her upper arm she hisses at John, muscles tensing and wings spreading in a slight arc as if to make herself look bigger.

Nailah mostly certainly doesn't get away. Instead she ~~stands up~~ goes up on her hind-legs and tries to grapple with John and twist him to the side with his own momentum.

Steph growled and tried to kick down John from behind hoping he'd go down so she could go after her original quarry--Nailah was hers, damnit!
