Manchester, So Much to Answer For

Postby Roland Sackville » Wed Jan 08, 2014 4:07 pm

A newly-used Pontiac Aztek pulled up outside a warehouse in Manchester, which Roland's sassa-frassa stupid satelite computer GPS matron omatic alyzer swore was the place that gosh-durned robot automaton Google tinker toy machine had told that the lizardman had pointed out as the most likely location of the kidnapped kids.

Roland had not worn his full suit of armor, because how do you do that in a car? The Aztek is spacious, but not that spacious, and you try checking your mirrors in a full suit of platemail. It's not as easy as it looks, and it already looks pretty darn difficult. He had, instead, gone with more of the leather-and-hide route, but still equipped with his fancy sword--because like hell he was going to charge in somewhere without the sword specially designed to protect England from foul beasties, of which this kidnapping definitley counted.

He observed the outside of the building, contemplating.

Roland tightened his belt, and strode forward.

A security guard moved to intercept him; Roland smacked him with the flat of his blade, knocking him cold, and cleaved through the chain locking the warehouse door. He entered into darkness...

...and the lights came on, and Roland found himself surrounded by a maze of mirrors.

"Oh, I get it. This is that thing I made the kids do, now on me. Ha. Irony."

As the lights came on, Roland could almost swear he heard Haley's screaming threat to her captors. Was she actually nearby or was it just in his head. Or in his imagination...?

Roland swore.

"I'm coming! Stay strong, hemet!"

Roland swung his sword at one of the panes of glass, breaking it--but the glass poured, like a liquid, up the sword.

Roland swore in a language forgotten, and tried to pull the sword free.

The sword wasn't coming free. Like, at all.

So, when backwards is not an option--Roland instead charged forwards, intending to smash through the glass with his shoulder.

Instead, he found himself going through the mirror, passing through the surface.

The warehouse was quiet once more.
