An "anonymous tip" to the Xaviers administrate offices, courtesy of Your Friends in the British Government, led to a point of interest.

It seems that the Chelmsford Police had pulled over someone speeding on a moped down the A12. His driver's license had come up as invalid--a forgery--and they had no records of his fingerprints in the system.

"John Doe" was being held in the Chelmsford police department as an uncooperative prisoner, and the moped impounded due to improper registration.

Allison arrived at the police department in a less than good mood, which suited her for this sort of business. It actually made her look extra intimidating, adding to the nice outfit she'd worn to make a point. She entered the police station, scowling and walked right up to the desk sergeant. "I believe you have a John Doe here. I'm its attorney."

"Oh, I can begin to explain it," she said, handing over her business card. "But I don't think you really want to get tangled up in that. Especially since you've unlawfully impounded private property. I'm drawing up the complaint in my head right now."

"I'm saying that your 'John Doe', through a complicated series of things that is way above your salary, is school property, unlawfully impounded. I'd like the name of the arresting officer, please. It'll need to appear in the complaint."

"The arresting officer was Constable Rooney. He's still finishing out the uncooperative prisoner report."

From the tone of his voice, it was clear which one was worse.

"You have documentation of this...erm...arrangement?"

The sergeant led her into the back room, where Will sat a bit sullenly in a cell, wiping at his eyes.

"How's it coming, Constable?"

"Slowly, sir. Too many damn forms to fill out."

"Don't harass them, Ms. Rogers, or they might pull out the f'n pepper spray," Will groused.

Allison glared at Will, then pulled out some paperwork she'd drawn up for just such an occasion with a physical description of Will as well as the patent references. "As you can see, what you have here is university property, unlawfully seized and impounded I might add. But as it stands at the moment, my clients might be willing to settle for an apology if their property is returned promptly."

"Maybe keep your property from being a danger on the public roads," the sergeant grumbled, looking through the paperwork. "Is the moped yours, as well?"

The sergeant just grunted and muttered something derogatory under his breath. "The University have it's own police force? Maybe make sure this...whatever it was...doesn't happen again, or we'll be less...accommodating."

The sergeant grunted, and went over to do more paperwork.

About fifteen minutes later, Will was released, carrying his helmet.

"Thanks, Ms. Rogers," Will sighed.
