"With all that she did to you, I'll admit I wondered if that was a product of her as well."

[Narrator]

"It's... I still can't believe you really saved me... Even when I didn't know the right path myself."

[Samantha McManus]

"I just found you. It's the paramedics who saved your life."

[Narrator]

"But you called them. Because you decided it wasn't my time yet, right?"

[Samantha McManus]

"I knew it wasn't the moment I saw what she'd done. It's not right, what she does to people."

[Narrator]

"Because you decide when someone's time has come." she nods eagerly, thinking she's agreeing with Sam.

[Samantha McManus]

"Because you deserved more of a chance."

"You live in Lambeth, aye?"

[Narrator]

She nods.

[Samantha McManus]

"I know this might be a personal question, but are you a mutant?"

[Narrator]

She nods again. She seems concerned about the hospital staff noticing, judging by her glancing around.

[Samantha McManus]

"And I'm guessing you've got nobody helping you with that?"

[Narrator]

"No. Most of Mutant Town is pretty bad off..."

[Samantha McManus]

"I'm going to give you some business cards. One is for the London office of X-Corporation, and one is for a school in Maldon. If you call ahead, they can send a car to get you. It doesn't have to be a marked car, either."

"They can help you better understand yourself."

[Narrator]

"Oh. Thank you very much. Is it... is it okay if I tell some other people about this number?" she asks, looking up from reading the X-Corp card.

[Samantha McManus]

"Absolutely. They've already got some outreach programs in Lambeth, but the response hasn't been the best at times. I'm certain they wouldn't mind some word of mouth."

[Narrator]

"Lots of people think they're too close to the government to really help or care..."

[Samantha McManus]

"It's the price of doing business, I'm afraid. A great deal of what they do wouldn't be allowed without cooperating with the government."

[Narrator]

"Right... Well, thank you very much for all you've done for me."

[Samantha McManus]

"I'm sorry if this is all a bit clinical, it's just... you shouldn't have to be ashamed of that, aye?"

[Narrator]

"I think I understand." she nods.

[Samantha McManus]

"Once you're in... a more friendly setting, we could talk a bit more on that."

[Narrator]

"That... that's so incredibly nice of you to offer..."

[Samantha McManus]

"I just don't want to see you fall through the cracks again, aye?"

[Narrator]

"That's quite alright. I'm... used to that."

[Samantha McManus]

"You shouldn't be. No one should."

[Narrator]

Becky just kind of shrugs helplessly.

[Samantha McManus]

"I know it's just words at the moment. I hope I can make it more than that."

[Narrator]

"I believe you." she smiles weakly but honestly.
