"Grab it and get out. I'll try to keep them on me before I ketchup with you guys."

Why didn't we send Will and Kevin? she mentally sighs.

The NEXT set of tomatoes would knock Sara off her feet as they broke the sound barrier, and they were followed by more! Without help, she might start getting in serious trouble here.

"Good luck," Graham said before he shifted into his stronger satyroid form and hefted the computer tower. He nodded to Sara and got moving.

Bear was perturbed. She didn't know many tomato jokes!

She attempted to grab a couple upripened samples, and joined Graham in retreat, ready to cover their retreat.

"Sara, go!"

Sara goes down under the barrage of tomatoes and then proceeds to sink into the ground to escape the angry plants.

Under ground, some set of roots tried to wrap around Sara's neck, while others, razor-sharp, tried to plunge through her rocky exterior!

Above-ground, the tomatoes quieted down.

Sara tries to slide through and around the roots by absorbing and displacing the ground to move, completely abandoning her humanoid shape.

Bear scanned the ground with her x-ray vision, gasping when she saw the plants were not letting up.

"C'mon, Sara.."

They chased after her, but Sara was pretty mobile in this environment and was widening the gap.

Once she was somewhat clear of the roots she tries to make a break for the perimeter of the greenhouse to come up from the ground outside.

Outside of the greenhouse, Sara was apparently safe. For now.

((Sorry for the delays on this; today was just horrible!))

The tomatoes seemed quiet...for now

Who knows how long their range was?

Sara regroups with the others outside, no worse for wear except a couple of scratches and bruises.

"We'll call in a team to burn all the plants. Unless somebody thinks this is worth pursuing to develop a long-range vegetable delivery system?"

"If you could work with the police, that'd be great, yeah. I'll take this stuff to the lab just to make sure setting these on fire doesn't somehow make them worse."

While it would take a bit for the CSI people to believe their rather incredulous story, the X-Team finally got the site cordoned off with the city's most serious police officers, allowing for extraction of the deadly plants.
