"About tomato size?" he asked.

Laura Weston wrote:"I've got a broken pane on top of that greenhouse, Graham. Going to take a closer look," she said, buzzing down and hovering around the hole so she could get a view from several angles.

The ((very roughly)) tomato-sized hole revealed an oddity--while looking through the glass from the outside, tinted or not, revealed raspberry bushes, that wasn't what Laura saw THROUGH the hole--there were, indeed, tomato plants down there.

"We have a tomato-sized hole. And while through the glass, it looks like raspberries, there are definitely tomatoes in this greenhouse," she said into her radio before pulling an energy bar out of a pocket on her shoulder and starting to quietly munch on it.

"Begs the question of how the body got where it is, especially considering the door is locked," he radioed.

"It's like the glass is making it look like there are raspberry plants inside, but if the glass isn't the way, it's clearly tomatoes."

There was a THUMP from the inside of the greenhouse, and Laura could swear she saw the plants rustle on their own.

"We've got movement in the greenhouse, possibly the plants themselves," she reported, wolfing down the rest of the energy bar and tucking the wrapper away.

"Oh, if we're doing it that way," Graham said, voice deepening as he grew into his satyroid form. Then he tried punching through the glass around the lock.

Graham had no few difficulties punching around the lock, through it would take two or three swings--it's reinforced glass, but it's glass not withstanding.

There were rows after rows of tomato plants in here, despite what the CSI guys had said--clearly, they were growing tomatoes here.

On the floor near the door, one tomato lay, squashed open.

He quietly hissed in pain as he tried opening the door from the inside.

It opened! And Graham got his hand dirty from some tomato juice that had splattered on the door.

"You could have waited a minute." Sara points out as she walks up. "And so much for no tomatoes. I wonder how they're doing this." she says, glancing back and forth between the view through the glass and the open door.

He extracted his bloodied arm and removed a shard of glass. His wounds were healing quickly.

"I didn't expect you so fast."

He made a face at his hand.

"Eww. Tomato juice."

The rustling had stopped, at least for now.

There was something odd, here. Bear knew something about ballistics.

The hole was in the roof, yet to hit the farmer at the other end of the field, any weapon fired from here would have had to curve--or the farmer's body was moved. One or the other.

"Hmm... Are there any glass shards outside or did something break in through the roof?" she asks, mostly directed at their 'ballistic-tech' Bear.

Bear would notice that the glass did, indeed, fall outside of the roof.

"The shards are outside.. Whatever caused this.. Started out inside the greenhouse."

Bear did some quick calculations, trying to see if it was a well-placed arcing trajectory that did this.

Not unless gravity was fundamentally different in the area of the greenhouse.

Graham returned to human and looked down at the smashed tomato in the doorway, calculating its trajectory to judge the direction it came from.

IT came from the plants! Or, rather, from the direction of one of the rows of plants. That is, assuming it followed normal trajectories.

The roof supported her weight; the glass was definitely pretty strongly re-enforced, making the fact that something punched a hole through it all the more intriguing.

Graham let out a 'hmmm' and sniffed the juice on his hand. Hadn't the tomato scent seemed... off?

Bear, likewise, opened her satchel.
