I13DT: Plenty Accusations

[Miranda Weaver]

Miranda directed her thoughts at Sam, While they talk tech, Mum, can you and I talk?

"Of course we can, dear."

[Aria Nyx]

"The bracer's just to safely channel what's inside." she says after hugging Sam and Miranda, carefully, sliding a couple panels to the side and revealing a compartment that, for all intents and purposes, should not be able to fit into the device. Inside is a small, oval gem, giving off small arcs or purple energy.

"My clairvoyance let's me see into other places, it let's me wrap my head around spatial distortions and folded space. You and Dr. West built a machine that takes the distortions I induce with the gem and reflects them in on themselves until space-time collapses into a quantum singularity that acts as a space-time tunnel. That's how they explained it anyway, I just attune to the gem and create a bubble of space around myself."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"And what's going wrong now?" Ryan asked. "You can't find the right target to get home? You can't put enough power into it when there's this much time/space drift?"

[John Hino]

He nodded. If any of that went over his head, it didn't show.

"Wait... West?" he asked, brow raised. "Nevermind... I would guess her timeline is now a universe parallel to ours. Dimension hopping and time travel are two very different animals."

[Miranda Weaver]

We should probably meet in my head. There's at least one other telepath in the room.

[Aria Nyx]

"Bit of both." she answers Ryan and John. "It corrects for some drift but beyond a certain point both the device and me can't take the strain."

[John Hino]

"What if you first went back to when things began to diverge?"

[Aria Nyx]

"I'm already back there once, that'd just tie even more knots into things."

[John Hino]

"Damn... you're right. It would."

He paced a little as he thought, stopping to make a eureka gesture but dismissing it.

"Hmm... If my... Your Timeline Me's people only made the machine, where did the gem come from? Were there others?"

[Aria Nyx]

"Kind of... But only one like this. But that's not the problem, there's enough juice in there to get me back and then some but it'd kill me to tap into it like that and probably burn out the machine too."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan looked at her a moment. Then he raised a glowing hand. "Not going to pretend to be an expert in this yet, but what if I gave you more energy."

[Aria Nyx]

"That... that could work!"

[John Hino]

"And we'd need to increase the bracer's capacity, but I'm sure Doctor Bowen and Doctor Quinn can achieve that."

[Aria Nyx]

"I hope you realize that if this works you're going to make me look really stupid..." she says, turning her head towards Miranda briefly.

[Miranda Weaver]

Miranda was obviously lost in some sort of communication with Sam.

[Narrator]

The bridge surfaced...

...just as the Blackbird hovered into position above them! It seems that, thanks to all the explosions and the like, the stealthboat wasn't so stealthy anymore.

[Deirdre Quinn]

"I'll hand it to you lot," Dee's voice says over the radio, "you never do these things by halves."

[Allison Rogers]

"They don't make legal paperwork for black ops submarines you know," chimed in Allison's voice.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"How far out to sea are we? We could always pretend we never saw it."

[Allison Rogers]

"Is it the sort of thing you want to leave lying around?"

[Will Stanton]

"You'll have to send an X-Corp salvage team for the rest of it, I'm afraid."

[Allison Rogers]

"I can alert them as soon as we have everyone aboard."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"You heard the lady. Let's get out of this thing into something that wasn't rigged to kill us."

[Will Stanton]

Will did so, and the craft returned home.
