John's black BMW pulled through a gate and up the drive to a large house. Stopping, he stepped out and walked up the steps to the front door to ring the bell.

"Coming! Just a seeeec!" He could probably hear shuffling around, some bangs, and finally some footsteps coming towards the door. It's quiet for a few moments as she peers through the peep-hole. However, the door doesn't open just yet.

"What's the password?" Her voice is a bit suspicious, yet playful all the same.

"Hrm...how do I know it's really you? What if you're like...a crazy mind reading shapeshifter?" On the other side of the door, she held a nice baseball bat in her hand. "Prove it's you! Anyone could know the password!" She was probably having fun with this.

"Yeah well, I knew you knew I knew." She says, sticking out her tongue. Finally she steps forward and hugs him. "I missed you. It sucks out here." She likely looked just a tiny bit skinnier since he last saw her. Leaving friends can be tough, especially for younger kids.

"Missed you too sis," he said as he hugged her gently.

"Sorry I couldn't rescue you sooner," he added as he straightened up. Hugging tiny people was awkward like that.

"Pft, if need be I'm sure I could have figured out a way to do it. I'm not helpless, you know." She says, rolling her eyes a bit. "So how have you been?" She asks as she steps back inside the house, setting the bat down.

He followed her in.

"Yes, I'm sure Doctor Grandpa is no match for you," he smirked. "Still keeping super busy like the overachiever I am. You... besides bored?"

All the light are on in the place and most of her things have been gathered in the walkway. "Besides being bored? Well...not much at all. I mean I've been practicing things a bit, but I have to be careful. Don't wanna break stuff in here."

"Duh! And nah, they had to go out. Said to give you this...erm...where did I put it." She begins searching around on a table through some papers. Finally, she retrieves an envelope, handing it to him. Probably was just a card of some kind like many grandparents send from time to time.

He took the card and opened it with casual curiosity.

It was a beautiful card that appeared constructed from scratch, some of the lines were a bit shakey, but overall it was a well-constructed card. Inside the Japanese calligraphy was written beautifully. Offhandedly while John reads, Mizuki speaks. "I watched Grandma do it. She's so good at it."
