There was a clicking sound and then a low rumble as the walls started moving in steadily. Hidden holes on the white panels opened up and large, sharp rows of spikes slid out.

The kids had a little time, they were moving a little slower than haunted house spikes, but not quite as slow as evil scientist spikes. Still, it would probably be in their best interests to get moving.

Alex, meanwhile, had other ideas. He didn't wait LONG, but he did stop to grab onto one of the spikes, trying to sync with the metal it was made of.

"This is almost TOO easy," Alex muttered, shifting to the very familiar iron form. He grabbed one spike and started to siphon off the mass, intent on drawing in the metal from all of the spikes as he started moving again.

"DAMMIT!" Alex shouted, not... QUITE in pain, but close.

...All right, need some more finesse... Changing tactics, he started shooting out tendrils of iron to merge with the spikes to siphon them off that way.

Alex managed to get another couple of spikes with this tactic. It looked like he'd have the room cleared of the spikes soon.

Of course, this wasn't called The Room of Painful Death for nothing. The panels slid to the side, revealing what looked like extremely powerful sunlamps.

The billboard had changed. It just read "SHISH KEBABS!" now.

Shit shit shit that's my cue... Alex started running as he pulled the iron into him, filling his form out. Now, if I'd been bulked up like this before, maybe we wouldn't be here...

He didn't know exactly what the new gadgets were going to do, but... well, he had a good idea given the sign. He ran, ready to scoop up anyone slower than him in the process.

As the last person entered the hallway, the door closed. For a moment the entire group was left standing in a pitch dark hallway.

Then the walls lit up like they were giant monitors. In the soft light they could see another door just a bit further down the hall. Meanwhile, text began loading on the walls.

Then the screens became a soft and gentle landscape. A field of grain, softly swaying in the wind.
