I13: Test 00002.5 - WE'RE NOT DEAD?

Postby Narrator » Fri Dec 20, 2013 11:27 pm

Sidney and Alex would materialize in the same white room together. It was smaller then the others and there didn't appear to be any doors. Just a large metal pad in the center. On the far wall there were large screens with a portrait of each of the other testers (minus Alex and Sidney).

"Welcome to the next phase of testing. You are here because you are incredibly stupid. However, our capacity for forgiveness is limitless and we have designed a way for you to make up for your mistakes."

"The rules are simple. You are in a room with no food or water. There is no escape other then the teleporter pad in front of you."

"To activate it and return to your fellow testers, simply choose two candidates for termination."

"Or do not. And starve to death here. It is up to you."

A giant red "X" appears above Brigid's face.

"She has been marked for termination. One more to go."

"Gonna have to think it over," Alex called as he started circling the room, giving it a pound here and there with a steel fist to feel it out.

Sid actually swivels around when the computer takes her seriously. Well it's not gonna do anything if I don't step on the damn thing.

"Yeah, I'm sure the room they teleported us into has a secret door." she says, looking around the room anyway. She wasn't really sure if she was immune to starvation and she doesn't particularly feel like eating her own foot over and over either.

The walls were steel, but it felt like there was a thick layer of something solid on all sides.

"Take your time. The choice to murder your friends is one that should be given some thought."

"Yeah, I'm not looking for a door. I'm not the big smart strategic guy... I'm the one that pounds stuff." And with that, he started going to town on the wall, hoping to find a spot that wasn't solid that he could punch through, or get down to the support beams, or SOMETHING.

Having established that the walls were steel, Alex touched it and shifted to steel, starting to daw the walls off (and floor too, hopefully) to get a look at all the supposed sone underneath, particularly to see where the screen and other equipment was getting power from.

The walls were, in fact, solid stone. It looked like someone had teleported the entire room deep underground.

The equipment had no visible means of power. Weird.

The screens shifted to show pictures of Sydney and Alex starving to death. The words "SIMULATION" ran underneath.

Sydney wouldn't find much that Alex didn't. If she investigated the screens and pad closely she'd find they all had a similar symbol on them. It looked like a stylized eye of providence.

Sidney starts prying the shattered monitor away to pull on cables (assuming there are any) to see how far she can pull them out of the wall where the monitor had been.

The tables lead into a metal box that looks as if it was hastily welded into the wall. It sounded hollow if you knocked on it.

Another monitor started playing a live feed of their friends. Haley was levitating someone that looked like Alex towards the group. Everyone looked very worried.

Alex focused on the extra iron he'd taken in, forming it around one of his hands like a chisel, forming a heavy hammer of it around his other hand, and started on the stone wall as you would expect someone so equipped to do.

Haley Crusek wrote:"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!! I'M GONNA FUCKING RIP YOU IN HALF WHEN I FIND YOU!!!!" Haley screamed, a corona of psionic energy burning around her.

"Good thing the others are keeping their cool." Sid spits out, though getting her to actually admit that she had hoped for them to get them out of this room would be hard. Instead she just goes back to yanking wires out of the broken monitor and hooks them up to the metal platform in the middle. Maybe if she can short-circuit it it'll teleport them back to where they had been. Worst case scenario she electrocutes herself again, right?

That also happened to be the best-case scenario, as she was, in fact, electrocuted.

Please hold.
