A bit tough to do anything with the shackle right here and right now--there seemed to be an explosive charge tied into them. They could try, but it might be dangerous.

"All right, hang on," Alex said. He shifted to iron as they made their way through to the torrent of water coming through the chute. He metabolized the rest of the iron he was carrying into his body, then, once Mari had a good grip around his neck, he started hauling them up the rope.

Sid begrudgingly cooperates in walking though it's bit of a chore since she doesn't seem like she feels like helping much, instead kinda letting Haley drag her foot along.

With a team effort, and a little help from their friends, they would be able to shimmy up the rope--it'd take time, but they would, eventually, reach the surface.

Once he reached the chute, Alex would sync with the metal of it to dig his fingers in and haul up better, but also to try to stop up the water flow or divert it around them somehow.

Alex could, with a little effort, create a sort of gutter out of the metal, providing a clear path for people to climb up.
