"I can eat, but that... meal... will keep me going for a while yet," she said, lifting the other dead creature and throwing it off the trail. "Scavengers will smell the blood and the bodies, we should keep going." If she had heard their conversation, she gave no indication of it.

"Oh, okay." she says, unwrapping one of the bars for herself instead.

"I can take you as far as the village. They will welcome the daughter of Ka-zar. If you wish, I can guide you further than that, but they will not allow me in the village." She began leading them through the jungle again.

Kliran turned her head to the side and spit. "I would also like it if you did not mention the name again. It is bad enough being compared to that... thing. There is no sense in angering the Great Ones or tempting fate by speaking his name aloud."

"People with powers around here usually end up with the Mutates. It's kind of a vicious cycle, because what the Mutates usually do... really doesn't make people want to trust people with powers."

Kliran changed the subject, "You might be able to get mounts in the village. They would gladly lend the assistance or at least that was the attitude the last time I was there. I doubt things have changed that much."

"Why so? You didn't know me before today and once you've gotten to your parents, you'll never see me again. Best not to get attached." She motioned to some plant in the way, "Don't step on that, it might try to eat you."

"You're outsiders, there's not a lot that I think you could do," she said, making a face at the plant before moving on.

"My state is not something that I think think the great Ka-zar or Shanna should concern themselves with. They have greater things to concern themselves with," she says. She stops without saying anything, leaning down to put her right hand against the ground, murmuring softly to herself.

After a moment, she stands up. "Okay, the way is clear. We should keep moving." There was a roar from up ahead and to their right that moved away from them into the distance rapidly.

"Souls as big as a King's are easy to sense and with the proper prayers to the Great Ones, I informed him that there was a tasty herd of Tall Necks that would make a much better meal," she said, sniffing the air before setting off at a decent pace.
