I13DT - Sixteen and Holding

Postby Miranda Weaver » Wed Mar 12, 2014 2:16 pm

Miranda or Project Miranda, she wasn't sure which, sat in her holding cell and listened to the world. She was resting her head on her knees. The power dampening device around her neck rendered her blind. She mumbled quietly, raising her head when she thought she heard a noise that was out of place.

Charles sat cross-legged at the back of his cell. Perhaps unlike Miranda he'd retained knowledge of what and/or who he was though whether that was actually helpful when being imprisoned was a different question.

He didn't appear to be aware of any strange/out of place noises and just sat there quietly without moving much having stopped fiddling with the power dampening device around his neck some time ago.

"Something strange is happening," Miranda said quietly. "Those aren't the normal noises."

Charles looked over at Miranda with a quizzical look on his face.

"I don't hear anything," Charles said straining with rather average sense. "Sorry, I mean... what do you mean not the normal noises?"

With that, the door to the main hall slowly swung open.

'It's just wrong and..." Out of habit, she immediately shut up as soon as the door opened.

Miranda was looking more or less in the direction of the door, but the binding that someone had tied across her eyes made it obvious she couldn't see whatever was over there.

Not from around here. That's good. "Hello," Miranda responded, returning the shouted whisper.

Charles was a little confused as to what was going on. For some reason the thought of rescue or escape didn't really entered his mind.

"Yes?" Charles asked or stated it was somewhat hard to say.

Possibly--the locks were advanced, and secure without the proper key--but telekenesis was a pretty useful skill. If applied properly...

Someone more creative than Cecil might have found a way to defeat the locks with his powers, Cecil is of course Cecil.

"We probably going to have to find the keys or just brute force it." Cecil stated.

Will nodded.

"Flowstone, Airwalker, Felana, try to find the key to these things. I'll stay here, and see what I can do."

"It's going to be alright," Will added to the two in the cells.

Miranda turned towards the sound of Charles' voice. "It wouldn't be the first time I've played along with some sick mind game they've put on me. Look, if they're just going to fuck with us, there's nothing we can do to stop that, but if there's a chance this is a legit, I'm taking it."

"Xaviers? You're supposed to go to the school?"

Will took his one, non-trapped hand, and tried to untie Miranda's blindfold.

Miranda realized, too late, that Will had misunderstood her. The blindfold came off and it was immediately obvious that that wasn't what she meant as there was no physical way for her to see as her eyes were missing. "Crap! I'm sorry," she said, snatching the blindfold back up and trying to put it back in place.

"Woah!" Will said, lurching back a little bit--but as one hand was stuck in the lock, he ended up elongating that arm. "I'm so sorry--Miranda, was it? I'm so sorry--I didn't mean to...ow. What ha...no, um, sorry?" he said, eloquently.
