Miranda started rocking back and forth, muttering. "I'm going to die now... they told me I'd die if the alarms went off... the alarms are going off..." She repeated that in a short cycle.

The touch caused her to stand and the volume of her muttering decreased down to a mumble that wasn't really intelligible anymore. She seemed to be willing to follow Will though.

"We're gonna get out of here and everything will be fine," reassured the fearsome werewolf. (That may have been less reassuring than she liked.)

Stephanie started moving quickly towards the exit, keeping her eyes and nose peeled for danger.

"'Plan Omega' sure sounds like a self-destruct of some kind. Don't really want to find out," she growled, leading the kids towards the exit.

The exit door was closed, and standing in front of the door was Quinton Watson.

"Xaviers. I should have known."

"Use your senses, Ms. Kaltiera. I'm not really here, this is a holo-projection.

My security chief in the room down the hall is VERY real, and he'll be with you shortly.

The satellites moving into position over this facility are also very real, and they will also be with you, shortly."

Her eyes narrowed, "You're a monster, and when I find you, you're going to pay for the crimes you've committed."

Steph turned towards the supposedly approaching "head of security," growling.

"No. It is nothing less that a work of art."

That's when...it...broke through the locked back room.

It took up most of the space from floor to ceiling, brushing against even the taller roof here in the lobby.

The best first word to describe it would be "minotaur", but that's not quite right, either. With cloven feet and horns, it's not a bad first shot, though. The legs were thicker than that of your stereotypical minotaur, and hairier.

Then there were the wings. That's not normal for a minotaur, if such a phrase could be said to exist. The wingspan must be a good 15 feet wide, propelled by muscles as thick as ropes.

The tail was odd, too, as it had...well, let's be frank, it had what looked like a mouth with fangs, dripping venom. Might want to stay away from that.

And then there were the tentacles coming out of it's back. That certainly wasn't normal.

"The perfect pray. Not ready for deployment yet, hence my continued presence. But it can get a good test run---on you," Kraven laughed.

The beast howled.

The exit was locked. From the outside?

The hologram of Watson looked on in detached observation.

The beast howled and grabbed at Steph with one tentacle.

The beast was able to grab Steph easily, but not before she raked her claws along much of the tentacles length, hopefully weakening it enough to relatively quickly burst free of its grasp.

She definitley got a good rake in before she was grabbed. Some serious gashing action.

It didn't seem to stop the creature from hurling her down the hallway into the rear wall of the building.

Stephanie hit the wall with incredible force, and she was certain she felt several of her ribs break. She fell flat onto the the floor after bouncing off the wall and struggled to push her self up, growling. She let out an ear-splitting howl and charged down the hallway towards the creature again.

Steph wasn't fast enough--or at least she wasn't thinking clearly enough to avoid the creature's bite as she landed one of her own on the back of the creature's leg, raking her claws down its back and wings at the same time.
