Unfortunately, John alone wasn't enough to hold the exponentially-increasing bridge, and it wrenched itself free from his hands as Mizuki and Rowena started across!

Mizuki let's out a shrill scream and tries to grab the bridge to hold on.

Bears heart jumps into her throat as she is catapulted off the spinning g bridge..

Reacting instinctively, she pulls out a grapple ball and throws it to Mizuki and Rowena, as she desperately leaps for the edge of the cliff.

"Grab the ball and hold on!" She yells, straining to climb up to the top of the ledge.

Rowena says something impolite in Farsi as she solidifies her hand enough to make a grab for the ball while her other hand grabs for Mizuki, trying to phase them out to reduce the strain on the grapple rope. In a flash of insight, she tries to let the grapple swing them into the far cliff face, intending to let her phasing carry both herself and Mizuki *into* the cliff.

Bear starts slowly pulling the grapple line back up, doing her best to try and see through the thick rock cliff..

The grappling line begins moving upward, rising both with Bear's pulling and some other movement. Shortly, Rowena pops out of the top of the cliff dragging Mizuki with her. Once they're completely out of the cliff, she releases Mizuki.

John looked incredibly relieved when Mizuki and Rowena arrived safely on the other side. Thinking of something, he went to examine the walls perpendicular to the chasm.

They were made of stone, or at least so it appeared. Some nooks and crannies were in the surface--it'd be a difficult climb, but if that's all there was to it, he could probably make it.

He walked back to the bridge.

"Victoria! Are there any magic triggers on the walls?" he called across.

Am I over-thinking this?

There were no magical triggers on the walls. The difficulty would come from it being a tough climb, not from any additional magic.

"Hmm... one other thing to try first!" he said, remembering to think like an engineer. He went to the ground near the bridge and put an ear to it, trying to hear if a physical mechanism for the rotation was both present and close enough to the surface to matter.

He stood up.

"Looks like I'm climbing."

He looked to Melody, "Just hold on to me very very tight."

As soon as she joined him at the wall, he'd start climbing across.

With an extra weight, the climbing was slow going, and halfway through, his fingers nearly slipped--that would have led to a long, long fall.

However, with patience and skill, John was able to manage his way over, safely arriving on the other side.
