"Please be ready to jump," Victoria said. She walked forward to the tetsubo, holding her hand out, but not touching it, trying to read any spells wrapped around it, particularly attached to the statues.

Bear took out a couple of balls, rolling them slowly to the feet of the statues.

It was actually relaxing. Usually, she was sending them the supersonic route.

Indeed, as John touched the Onihasaiki, the statues lumbered into motion!

The marble one began to shine internally, as it strode towards John, while the obsidian one turned from black into BLACK, if you catch my drift, and moved to block off the others.

Bear quickly hit the trigger concealed in her hand, detonating the explosives at the feet of the statues. Hopefully, they would be pushed to he ground by the impact.

They weren't. The statues were too big for that, though it did at least slow them down for a second--perhaps long enough for John and Vickie to get free.

Finally, something Melody excelled at--blowing things up!

Her eyes flared with energy as she formed bombs and chucked them at the statues joints, hoping to break off pieces.

"How much of a problem is that light going to be?" Victoria called to John as she tried to make her way back to the rest of the group.

What can I do here.
How many spells do I have left in me?
A couple, if they're significant.
Am I sure?
Of course I'm sure.
I'll have to make them count somehow.

John first attempted to take the weapon with him as he moved away.

The weapon wasn't attached to anything, so John was able to take it with him. He was now blocked from the exit by the thing, though

Victoria would find herself a little bit trapped between the two giant statutes, though at least neither were facing her. She could try to go through the legs of either, bringing her right into the Danger Zone.

Melody's bombs, like Bear's, forced the statue to stagger back a little from the sheer force, but no cracks were apparent, yet.

John held the dark stone club up defensively as he backed away from the shining giant.

"Wow... nice balance on this thing..."

No, I don't think I could.

Victoria held her hands out eyes glowing red as she started to chant. She could pepper these things with magic bolts, but it probably wouldn't do a thing. She needed something less direct and more effective, and she needed time to do it. This was the best she was going to get.

"Razor's edge between darkness and light!
Order creates chaos!
Mists trail the dragon spiraling to the abyss!..."

The illusion began to take its shape in her mind as she chanted, hoping against hope that she would have a chance to finish the spell.

Baer back flipped away, before taking out a solid steel sphere and throwing it at the head of the light statue. It was like a rail gun shot to the head.

The creature staggered back! But once again, there was no physical damage done.

It appeared, at the moment, they could MOVE the creatures forcefully, but not damage them.

With speed defying the size of their frames, the statues kept moving to try to keep John and Mizuki separated, their giant swords coming down in an arc to attack both simultaneously!

Mizuki doesn't so much dodge but rather stops and kind of falls backwards to avoid the huge weapon.

"Mirrors within mirrors extending to infinity!" She threw her hands out, releasing the spell. "Illusions of Ikon!" She didn't want it to be too complicated... but based on the last few minutes? She just wanted it to look like John and Mizuki had switched places.

Again, John's attack managed to stagger the beast, not damage it.

The statues paused for just a moment as Victoria's illusion took place, hesitating.

John ducked a slash of a giant sword and charged the shadow statue, swinging the Onihasaiki at its right leg. It probably wasn't a demon, but, hey, badass Oni club.

John's strength was enough to slide the statue back several feet, but again, no actual physical damage seemed to occur, yet.

Yet again, the statue slid back a bit, but no damage was being dealt.

Apparently, there was some condition that hadn't been met yet. Brute strength alone was not going to solve the puzzle.
