"Then let's not wait for them to finish their disagreement," she said as she gripped one of the doors, trying to wedge her force-field in there so she could rip it open.

Daniel grabbed the door on the other side, tearing the other direction, figuring a door would make a good bludgeoning weapon, too.

The scene on the other side was... utter chaos. There were Shi'ar guards, and opposing them were various humanoid aliens that, from the appearances of things, had come out of the empty holding cells. The only holding cell that was sealed had Mira laying on a bench behind its forcefield.

Daniel took her lead, flying in low, skimming the floor, only to shoot up in an uppercut when he reached the closest Shi'ar who was facing him, a faint shimmer of heat visible around his body as he moved.

Derek was taking a more... conservative approach than Kevin, standing back as the others charged forward and using his crystal-forming powers to tangle up the guards as they started dividing their attention between the X-Men and the inmates that had escaped, biding his time until someone was hurt and needed to be treated.

All the same... his instincts wouldn't let him just sit there. As the one Kevin kicked hit the ground, Derek formed crystal manacles to bind him back and started doing his best to treat the burn to his face, not having any teammates to focus on treating yet.

The Shi'ar were easily overwhelmed, having powerful attacks coming at them from both sides. The five prisoners, though, all beefy and super-durable looking, didn't seem to care who they were attacking... they were just going to attack. Which Kevin found out when the closest one threw an unconscious Shi'ar at him.

Kevin failed to avoid the flying bird-alien and was knocked to the ground. Luckily his armor prevented any serious harm. After recovering, he tried to push the unconscious alien off of himself.

Apparently, not everyone the Shi'ar lock up is unjustly accused. The criminals didn't seem to have any problems attacking targets of opportunity, and continued to rush the X-Men over the fallen Shi'ar. One of them fell back in a daze as one of Bear's balls impacted hard against its head, but the other four kept coming.

Daniel charged another, throwing a punch at its stonelike head and crying out in irritated pain as his fist impacted it. Growling in frustration he gave the guy a blast of heat vision and boosted off of him to fly clear of his fists.

The aliens, so eager for battle, hadn't seemed to be counting on the special abilities the X-Men brought to the table. Between the telekinetic blasts to hold them back and the various attacks, the X-Men seemed to fare much better than the Shi'ar at driving them back to their cells. Save for the one that Onyx dropped off into god-knows-where, of course.

'Mira' surged forward... along the way reverting to 'her' true form: that of a Skrull warrior. He batted a surprised Daniel through the air and across the room as he shifted into the form of a bulky alien monster, charging at Kevin.

Only to be met by the smaller, but force-field enhanced hand of Captain Britain, who extruded the field around the Skrull to get a grip on it and try to toss it back in the cell.

For her part, Captain Britain was willing to treat it like a hot potato, shaping the force field like a cone in hopes of expelling the expanding skrull into the cell.
