Aboard the Illustrious Paragon of Devastation

[Narrator]

The X-Men materialized in a room that appeared to be some kind of lower-level command center. Computers all displaying Shi'ar displays stood all around them. Also standing around them were several rather alarmed-looking Shi'ar, all of whom took a moment to snap out of their shock before reaching for their sidearms.

[Tommy More]

...sidearms which Tommy attempted to melt with gouts of flame.

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan didn't waste time blasting the one closest to him, point-blank and full-force.

[Taliyah Malik]

A red gauntlet formed over one of Taliyah's hands as she punched at the nearest guard.

[Onyx]

Onyx solidified, absorbing as much Darkforce energy as possible, before she threw a punch at one of the guards. Hard.

[Robert West]

Rob bravely stood on the sidelines, unconcerned with the sudden action as he fiddled with an oversized PDA.

[Melody Martens]

Melody formed a spray of small bombs and flung them at the two nearest Shiar.

[Calvin Strong]

Cal knocked a Shi'ar aside with his staff, giving him a blast of electricity as he rushed for the console the man had been using. HAL, l-

[Narrator]

The X-Men made short work with their surprise attack, and the Shi'ar all fell either unconscious or in a daze, easily subdued from that point with materials on hand.

All was, for the moment, quiet.

[Daniel Uriel]

"Maybe it'll all go that easily," Daniel mused dryly as he pulled back from the guy he'd been about to punch before he'd been blasted by someone else.

[Tommy More]

"Forward! Blasters back, flanking the physical users!" Tommy shouted.

It should be noted Tommy was NOT in charge.

[Melody Martens]

"Makes sense," she nodded, agreeing with Tommy for the time being at least.

[Valdis Hallsdottir]

Valdis tried to look like she belonged with the rest of the group, nodding gravely at Tommy's orders.

Since, y'know, she didn't know who was actually supposed to be in charge.

Since, y'know...she technically wasn't in the X-Men. Yet.

[Robert West]

"Mr. More, shut up unless you have have some useful information to supply," Rob says, "Calvin. I have a rough outline of Shi'ar computer architecture and basic language instructions on here. Download them into that cyborg brain of yours. It will probably help you more then blindly poking around in there."

"Be careful. Most Shi'ar technology is sentient to some degree or another."

[Tommy More]

"Why, I never."

[Robert West]

"We're in enemy territory attempting to rescue a prisoner of war. What part of that situation says 'charge' to you?" Rob asks, "Wait. I forgot. English nobility. Still stupid but it makes sense."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"How about we make a plan before we start battle formations," Ryan said, calmly. He looked around, then pointed at the three doors in turn. "Three people on each door, no one gets in them without getting blasted back out." He looked at Rob. "Help him get into the systems, we've got three objectives here. Tell me when we're in."

[Calvin Strong]

"I've had that downloaded in my head for months," Cal said. "Good news! We didn't trip any alarms with that. Bad news! We probably lit up this room like a Christmas tree on every sensor grid they have. Come help me get into their deeper systems."

[Robert West]

"Alright, but it better not involve crystals," Rob says, "I despise crystal based technology."

[Calvin Strong]

"I'll drive, you navigate," Cal said. "Check your little iPad there, I'm sending you the translations."

[Valdis Hallsdottir]

Eagerly following official X-Men Leader orders, Val headed for one of the doors to stand guard, her homespun blouse and pants contracting starkly with the alien technology around her.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"All right, X-Men," Ryan said, "Official and otherwise, those of you who know what the standard procedure here is, bear with me, those who don't listen. we've got three targets."

"First objective, we need to find out where they're keeping Altamira. Probably there'll be a lot of security around, so we'll probably have to blast her out."

"Second objective, we're taking as much control of this ship as we can, which probably isn't much. So we're going to send a team back to hold their engine room hostage... or the most centralized area that can disable the ship and keep it from running away. If we can hold the ship hostage, all the better."

"Third objective, leadership. We're going to send a team to treat with, or fight with whatever authority is on this ship, or some combination of the two."

[Taliyah Malik]

"Well...while we wait, who wants to sing campfire songs?" Taliyah asks in a chirpy voice.

[Janice Gilbertson]

"I'm just... rather glad that worked," Captain Britain said, confirming that she was indeed still holding onto her powers even though she'd left the planet.

"But how willing are they going to be in dealing with us if they know what happened back at the campus?"

[Melody Martens]

Melody nodded at Ryan, "Better plan. I'll hold this middle door. I can help blast the others too," she offered, bombs forming in her hands.

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan looked at Janice. "Don't know, don't care, but we've got a lot of 'we've saved your collective asses before' ammunition. Might be able to get something out of it. Point is, we'll try, and if they won't listen, that's why we'll have people taking the ship hostage at the same time."

[ASHLIE]

ASHLIE still hadn't really been sure what all the shooting and fighting had been about, but it wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to send a probe into space. And maybe she'd even be helpful.

Now she had just ignored the fighting and had scanned the room. She picked up that there's was some kind of computer system running but her wireless protocols are entirely incapable of making any kind of connection so while everyone's yelling and talking she disengages one of the cables from the back of her 'skull' and tries to jury rig it into a nearby console.

[Madrox Saavedra]

Madrox nodded, "I can handle the engine room systems, but I'll need some extra manpower since half my weapons are down."

[John Hino]

"And if things go south with those in charge of this vessel, you'll need some muscle," John said from his spot at one of the doors, "So count me in."

[Valdis Hallsdottir]

"I will go wherever I am needed most. My name is Valdis, but since we are working as X-Men right now, you can call me Epicentre."

[Melody Martens]

"Explosions in an engine room sound like a bad tactical decision from an 'all of us surviving' perspective, so I'll go with the diplomatic bunch," Melody offered, idly--or perhaps nervously--twirling bombs between her fingers.

"I'm Bombshell, Epicentre," she added, quietly.

[Kevin Gravis]

"... I'm going after Mira..." Kevin said, breaking his silence for the first time since killing Smasher.

[Byrna Cooper]

"I'll help find Mira," Bear said, fingering an explosive ball.

[Bobby Bowen]

"Just point me to where the punching is."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Whether he was listening to people say where they were going or not wasn't exactly clear. "Cap, you're going to take the team to get her back. Take those three," he said, indicating Kyra, Kevin, and Daniel. "Take Onyx, too, and anyone else you might need. Doc, you handle the engines. Take everyone who's mechanically inclined, and whoever else you think you might need. He looked around at the others, nodding. "You, you, you, you, you, and you, all of you are with me," he said, indicating Tommy, Rachel, John, Melody, Valdis and Taliyah. "Good behavior until they start anything with us. We want a slight chance at getting this mess straightened out without having to blow anything up."

[Byrna Cooper]

bear nodded, giving Ryan, and then Rachel, a kiss on the cheek before joining with Captain Britain to find Mira.

"Stay safe.." she said, smiling one last time Rachel and Ryan's way.

[Melody Martens]

"Will do, Seraph." Melody said, nodding.

[Robert West]

"I love this plan!" Rob says, "I'm excited to be a part of it. Let's do it!"

[Kevin Gravis]

Kevin, uncharacteristically, simply nodded quietly.

[Valdis Hallsdottir]

"Yes sir!," Val said enthusiastically, forming up with Ryan and the others.
