This is my last resort (MISSION)

[Narrator]

"No," the skrull said, looking over the X-Men. "I believe that you will be staying here." And with those words, an energy field formed surrounding the room.

Meanwhile, as if in answer to Kevin's word, a blast of bioelectricity slammed into the melee. When everyone's vision cleared, an intimidating skrull figure stood waiting for them. "Oh, it is bad, little man," the Skrull said as their holo-chips shorted out. "Now... surrender to Paibok the Power Skrull!"

[Calvin Strong]

Cal would have sworn if he had enough fine motor control to spare the time to think about it. "Need... time to reboot," he managed to Kevin.
HAL!

[Daniel Uriel]

"Knew this was going too easily," Daniel said, rushing the barrier and slamming his fist into it. Heat radiated from the punch on impact... and it did absolutely nothing, aside from throw Daniel back across the room.

[Melody Martens]

Melody rushed to Daniel's side, helping him to his feet and then dropping into a defensive stance, bombs forming in her hands. "You alright?"

[Kevin Gravis]

"Surrender? Us?" Kevin smirked as he summoned his combat gear, "Nah. That wouldn't be any fun."

"Nice entrance though. Very Macho Man Randy Savage."

[Narrator]

"I don't know what you're talking about, human, but I was hoping you'd see it that way."

Paibok charged forward, his skin shifting to a metallic green, and a fist as hard as steel swung in at Kevin.

[Daniel Uriel]

Daniel blinked, shaking off the shock, then looked around, fixing his eyes on the Skrull. "Yeah, I'm fine, but waste that fucker!" he answered, blasting beams of fire from his eyes at the Skrull.

[Kevin Gravis]

Luckily for Kevin, his enhanced reflexes allowed him to gracefully dodge the blow. He countered with a slash at Paibok's outstretched arm as he whirled about, hoping his blades were powerful enough to hurt the metallic Skrull.

[Narrator]

((Narrator's note: At this point, all posts for the room the ambassador is in should be in this thread.))

The sword sunk into the Skrull's arm most of an inch, but didn't seem capable of going farther for some reason. That reason became apparent when Paibok countered by sending a blast of arctic cold at Kevin through that injured arm as he reached with the other to throw the X-Man across the room.

[Kevin Gravis]

Rather than waste time extracting the blade, Kevin left it there to maybe cause pain as he leaped out of the way. He then threw his second sword straight at Paibok.

[Calvin Strong]

Meanwhile, from behind the Power Skrull, a recovered Cal brought his staff up and leveled a blast from it at the Power Skrull.

[Narrator]

Paibok threw his hands out, and ice formed in the air, cold enough to counter the intense heat of Kevin's blade, and sturdy enough to refract the blasts from Cal. Meanwhile, he began channeling the energy from the sword in his arm, the power sputtering out and fueling him unless Kevin decided to retrieve it or unsummon it.

[Kevin Gravis]

Kevin quickly unsummoned both blades and remade them in his hands.

"I now officially hate ice powers."

[Calvin Strong]

"All at once, let's waste this fucker!" Cal called, lunging in low with his staff, ready to press a vicious attack from the opposite side as Kevin would, counting on Kevin to know from their training sessions which direction he'd go to keep the Skrull's attention as divided as they could.

[Kevin Gravis]

"My thoughts exactly!" Kevin replied as he rushed in to attack, keeping perfectly opposite to Cal.

[Narrator]

Paibok was good... very good at hand-to-hand combat, even without using his powers. Even so, it took a great deal of focus just to keep up with the practiced two-pronged assault on him. Finally, he did what any good Skrull would do... he shifted into a hulking, dragonish thing, swatting with two massive fists at the two X-Men.

[Kevin Gravis]

"Too slow!" Kev smirked as he flipped out of the way, throwing a blade in a guided arc like a boomerang at the Skrull.

[Calvin Strong]

HAL! Reverse-polarity electrostatic field, based on the blast he gave us before! Now!

Calculating and projecting.  Electrostatic field engaged.

Cal dropped to the ground, letting the fist carry him, and letting his own electrical power start to drain out Paibok's.

[Narrator]

Paibok staggered as he found his power being drained out, leaving him open for the swords to hack across his chest. He roared in fury, siezing Cal in one massive fist and hurling him at Kevin.

[Kevin Gravis]

Kevin quickly side-stepped around Cal in a practiced twirl. He threw his swords out to the side, guiding them flying back around in a spin appearing to be intended to cut the legs out from under Paibok. However a the last moment he dismissed the twin blades and re-summoned them as one larger blade in his hands which he swung hard at Paibok.

[Narrator]

As before, something stopped the blades from cutting too deep, but the damage they did was obvious nonetheless. Paibok countered with a blast of his own, but is decreased power supply seemed to be holding him back from really attacking. By the time Kevin was swinging the combined sword, the Skrull had shifted down to a more lean form to try to evade it. "Be grateful for luck, Earthling," the Skrull growled. "Best you not be here when I return with reinforcements." THen in yet another display of 'Skrulls can't do that,' Paibok took to the air, flying through the ceiling, presumably to gather reinforcements.

[Kevin Gravis]

Kevin breathed out.

"I really hate Skrulls..." he grumbled.

[Calvin Strong]

"You too, huh?" Cal grunted, pushing himself back to his feet. "Jackass. Oh well, let's find where the others got off to."

[Kevin Gravis]

"Any idea which way they went?"

[Calvin Strong]

"Yeah, it's blaring all over their security frequencies, looks like they're in a fight, too," Cal answered. "They're... ah... that way," he said, pointing.

[Kevin Gravis]

"Then let's move fast," Kev nods, heading onward.

[Calvin Strong]

"Wait, hang on," Cal said, 'listening'. "Scratch that. Looks lie they got it done, we're getting beamed out of here."
