Daniel was hauling up anyone who couldn't manage the climb, dropping them to the floor again as he hovered over the hole he'd smashed up through. "Did the party start without us? I know we're a little late, it's impossible to get good directions around here," he said, burning eyes fixed on the big purple guy.

Thanos stumbled backwards, his assault interrupted by the sudden explosion. He recovered quickly, chuckling at the sight of the X-Team.

"Your allies? More ants?" Thanos asked Altamira.

"It was worth a try," Daniel said, shrugging. And, with more conviction than he'd felt through this entire 'adventure' in space, he dove forward to take the fight to Thanos. Or, at least, to occupy him long enough for someone else to do something.

Daniel threw up his hands, bracing himself as the cosmic energy blasted him back. "See... there's the thing," he panted. "I've known power. And I know all the reasons to turn it away."

He'd had time to come to understand the powers he'd gotten from Gladiator on Knowhere. Now he called up the powers he'd synced from the monk to tap into the power of faith. "But right now? The only power I need? Is knowing that I HAVE to beat you!" He charged forward again. "Because that's what I believe!"

Pressed into a close-corner fight by Daniel's charge, Thanos fended off his strikes while backing up. Carefully he waited for an opening he could exploit.

"Little help here!" Daniel called back at Kevin, not daring let up the assault a bit. This didn't look like normal fighting that anyone had seen from him. This was Daniel when he'd set his mind to the fact that someone had to die, and that he was going to make sure that the job got done.

"Pointless struggling," Thanos said, as he parried Kevin's and Daniel's silmultaneous attacks, "It would have been better for you to simply escape with the Phoenix. Now, you all will die."

A bubble of pure force surrounded Thanos, bursting outwards from all directions.

Daniel was blown back into a wall, though he seemed more shaken by the energy than the impact. "Yeah... there's the thing, I've never seen anything good come of loose ends," he grunted as he peeled himself off the wall. He stared down the mad Titan, believing in the rightness of blasting the guy's head off as he directed an energy beam at Thanos.

Melody was slammed to the ground by the wave of force, the wind knocked out of her. She struggled to gasp for air and push herself to her feet to help Daniel and the others fight. She eventually managed to right herself and catch her breath, and her eyes narrowed in concentration as she poured her will into making the biggest bomb she could manage, and looking for the best possible time to throw it. She saw her opening as Daniel let loose, flinging the volleyball-sized bomb at Thanos.

Kevin was sent flying into a wall, his armor leaving his silhouette seared into it as he slid to ground. He was stunned for a moment but soon slowly returned to his feet.

"Ooooooow...." he groaned, still a little wobbly as he moved back towards the fight.

"You won't hurt Mira," he declared resolutely as he picked up his stride, using the onslaught to try and mask his approach and strike unexpectedly.

Thanos managed to put up a decent block before he was hit by Daniel and Melody's blasts. The impacts threw him backwards into a large viewport on one side of the room. The thick shielding shuddered and cracked as he hit it.

Kevin's strike caught him off guard, the blade cutting into his side. Thanos roared in anger, lifting a hand towards Kevin and aiming a column of force at point blank range at the boy.

Daniel likewise had thrown himself forward to try to plow Kevin out of the way, for whatever good the attempt would do. As Mira tried the same thing, though, he shifted his path to try to plow Thanos into the wall instead of continuing on a path to collide with her.

Kevin hit the ground after Mira shoved him out of the way and, thinking fast, sent a sword flying at... the cracked viewport behind Thanos.

Altamira took the brunt of the blast, shielding Kevin as Daniel pushed Thanos off his feet and into the viewport. Kevin's sword slammed into a web of cracks from the previous hit and the viewport shattered. Without the proper footing, Thanos fell backwards and tumbled into empty space.

Without any way to maneuver, Thanos was hit by the blast and sent rocketing away. The last thing the team saw before the emergency viewport shutters closed was him rocketing through space at an incredible speed away from the station.
