A Subway Platform?

[Regan Rourke]

Moving like a zombie, Regan starts to step towards the creature, reaching out one hand to it.

[Prosopon]

The electricity arcs around Regan and causes a couple of smaller sparks to twitch around the creature's legs, but the majority of it disappears into the void. As Regan's hand comes closer her fingers start to look pale and elongated, as if stretching into the opening by themselves.

At the same time Cal, Haley and Christie would hear a faint telepathic voice calling out to them.

"...the sword..."

[Haley Crusek]

"Get the sword!"

Haley yanked back on Regan with hrr tk

[Calvin Strong]

"Get her, too! Pretty sure that whatever this is, we don't pass if we let her get eaten!" However, like a good boyfriend, Cal dutifully dove at the sword to grab it when his lady said so.

[Haley Crusek]

"Trying!" she said through gritted teeth, lifting her arms and trying pull back Regan from the thing's maw with her TK.

[Regan Rourke]

"...stop it..." Regan mumbles.

[Christine Bowen]

Christie kept hitting the thing, trying to get Regan out of its maw.

[Haley Crusek]

"Regan! Snap out of it!"

Haley threw as much strength as she could behind her tk, pulling back on Regan to put distance between the creature and her.

[Prosopon]

The sickly light reaches out in tendrils, trying to engulf Regan when Haley holds on to her with her TK.

Cal picks up the sword and for a moment it feels as if it was beyond ice cold, stinging his hand and arm. Then, from one second to the next the sensation is gone.

The body of the creature is thrashing about, slamming into Christie when she pounds on it, trying to keep her away.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley roared changing her tactic and trying to blast the thing away from them with her TK.

[Regan Rourke]

As Calvin touched the sword, Regan opened her eyes. They were a bit more...demonic than before.

"What the holy fuck is going on?" Regan growls.

[Calvin Strong]

Well... it's what the voice said, I guess... Cal lunged with the sword to give the... thing a stab aimed between its body segments.

[Prosopon]

The blade sinks in between the chitinous plating in a burst of thick, black blood gushing from the wound. The creature reels back with an unearthly scream, it's 'face' blinking rapidly through various faces as it thrashes about. It's body twists around and slams into Cal and Regan, knocking them against one of the walls, the sword dropping to the ground next to them. And that's when Haley's blast hits it, throwing the giant centipede back several yards where it squirms and coils in on itself.

[Regan Rourke]

Regan struggles back up to her feet, grabbing the handle of her sword.

"God, Cal. Do you do anything but fuck up?" Regan asks.

[Haley Crusek]

"If he hadn't just stabbed that thing, you would have fucking walked into its MOUTH willingly, you dead whore." Haley spat.

[Regan Rourke]

"And if he hadn't been an asshole, we wouldn't even be here," Regan says, giving the sword a flick so the fluids are shaken off of it, "But keep being a self-righteous bitch about everything, Haley. Not like you let the facts stop you before."

[Calvin Strong]

Cal utterly ignored Regan, as if she weren't there. "Ignore the annoying scenery, guys. Everyone okay?" he grunted, wincing as he pushed himself back up to his feet. "Anyone see anything else we're supposed to do?"

[Christine Bowen]

"Hey, guys." Christie said "Can we just get out of here?"

[Prosopon]

Somewhere between everyone yelling at each other the creature seems to have disappeared, leaving behind only a thinning rail of blood that leads into the darkness of the subway tunnel.

[Haley Crusek]

"Regan, shut up. I doubt you were exactly innocent."

And that's when Haley noticed the missing body. "Oh, fucking fantastic. Now the thing's gone to come back and fuck with us again later."

[Christine Bowen]

"Hey, guys." Christie said "Can we just get out of here?"

[Regan Rourke]

"We need to find an exit if we want to get out of here, Christie," Regan says, "And I have no idea where to even start looking."

[Calvin Strong]

Cal looked around for a door... It was a subway station, after all, so he looked for the stairs back up to the street.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley rubbed her temples gingerly--that fight took a whole lot out of her and she was afraid there was going to be plenty more fighting to come until they got the hell out of wherever they were.

"That thing seemed to know you. What was it and where the hell are we, Regan?"

[Calvin Strong]

"It's just some crap they made up to try to make us buy into the whole 'ghost' bullshit some more," Cal put in unhelpfully as he searched around.

[Regan Rourke]

"No one cares enough about you to go through this much trouble, Calvin," Regan says, "And this is...well, it's hard to explain."

"It's the space between things," Regan says.

[Christine Bowen]

"Cal, this is for real." Christie said "Can the truther bullshit and look for a way out,"

[Calvin Strong]

"Yeah, what do you think I'm doing," he said. "And right. A magical hole in reality opened to save the 'ghost' from being exorcised. Sorry," he added with an eye roll, still searching around.

[Haley Crusek]

"Anywhere not earth is a fucking scary place to be, filled with lots of shit that's going to try and kill us so the sooner we're out of here, the better."

[Regan Rourke]

"I think our best bet is to follow the blood trail," Regan says, "If it's telling the truth, I've met it before out in the real world. Which means it has a way of moving back and forth."

[Christine Bowen]

'I don't have a better idea."

[Haley Crusek]

"...yeah. You're right. And you've also got a sword that seems to hurt it. Who the fuck knows what else we might find...best bet is to find it and get it to talk."

ugh....this blows...

"Maybe next time don't walk into its mouth?"

[Nailah Weaver]

And that was when a a jolt went through Regan and, somewhat lesser but still very noticeable, the other three. Like an electrified fishhook grabbing them somewhere between their stomach and navel and jerking them back through the void into the common room where a very irritated Nailah is standing.

"What in the name of all that is holy happened here and why is there a gaping hole in reality in the common room." she frowns at the group, trying hard not to single out Regan with her eyes.

[Regan Rourke]

Regan coughs, looking annoyed when she realizes what happened.

"I was hanging around and thought it might be fun to give the meatbags a tour of the afterlife," Regan says, "It was fun. There was a waterslide and one of those bars at pool level."

[Haley Crusek]

Haley tried to give a replay of events to Nailah telepathically. She hadn't seen the initial fight--just the portal sucking everyone in.

[Regan Rourke]

"I had a pomegranate margarita."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Thank you, Haley. Anybody else feel like not getting detention and telling me how you managed to get to that place?"

[Regan Rourke]

"Yeah, ask Calvin. I'm sure he ripped open a hole into another plane of existence with science," Regan says, "Oh, or maybe Christie just brute forced the thing. Happens all the time, I'm sure."

"You know what happened," Regan says, "None of them had anything to do with this."

[Christine Bowen]

"I don't know." Christie said "I came into the common room, and then we got sucked into a portal thing."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Very well then. Miss Rourke, detention. Tomorrow after class, my office. The rest of you, good job holding your own against that thing and saving Miss Rourke."
