"You know what the usual guy's reaction to this is?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Well... yeah. But you went to a place where the guys are mutants too."

[Samantha McManus]

"Still, it's either the coolest thing they've ever heard of, or freaks them right out. There's really no middle ground."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah, I guess... But their loss, right?"

[Samantha McManus]

"Guess so. It was just a lot of stress I didn't need."

[Nailah Weaver]

"It's not really supposed to be stressful, is it? Granted I'm, uhm, not exactly an expert on this."

[Samantha McManus]

"It's just... expectations, aye?"

"Didn't get to date much, then?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Not many guys around in my parents living room and I wasn't really good at meeting people, you know?" she says, her tail wrapping itself around her leg.

[Samantha McManus]

"Can always make up for lost time, huh?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"I guess. Not really setting out to or anything though."

[Samantha McManus]

"Not saying you have to, just that nothing's stopping you, aye?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Right." she smiles slightly. "Just feeling a bit behind the curve, I guess."

[Samantha McManus]

"I don't think you've got anything to worry about. Lots of people don't date much."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah, you're probably right."

[Samantha McManus]

"Besides, I bet there's other home-schooled kids here, so you're not that weird."

[Nailah Weaver]

She chuckles and her tail unwinds from her leg. "Right, that's the spirit."

[Samantha McManus]

"Do you realize that you do that?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Do what?"

[Samantha McManus]

"The thing with your tail."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Oh jee, I have been, haven't I?"

[Samantha McManus]

"You do it when you seem a little nervous."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah..." she admits. "I've been trying to stop it but it's hard. Sometimes it just does what it wants."

[Samantha McManus]

"Didn't really want to make you uncomfortable or anything," she said with a smile and a flick of her own tail.

"I think it's kind of cute."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Thanks...?" she says carefully. "And it's okay. Just a little embarrassing."

[Samantha McManus]

"Why? It's just a part of you."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah but it's pretty obvious."

[Samantha McManus]

"But everyone's got their nervous tics, aye?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"I know. It's just one of those things. It's fine."

[Samantha McManus]

"Sorry, you must think I'm being terribly nosy."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Well we'll be seeing a lot of each other so you wanna know who you're rooming with."

[Samantha McManus]

"Aye, you'll probably be sick of me soon enough," she teased.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Well this is the first time I have a room-mate so either that'll happen in a week or not at all." she chuckles.
