It's dark in the common room though maybe not as quiet as the time would have you expect. In the middle of the night Nailah is slowly wandering through the room, often stopping and just standing there, wings half spread and staring at nothing with blank eyes. This goes on for a while until she pulls out a pen and starts going to seemingly random spots on the wall and starts writing indecipherable things on the wallpaper.

Upon finding her roommate missing, Samantha had been looking around. Stepping into the common room, she looked at the sphinx in puzzlement.

"...Nailah?"

She stops for a moment and turns around to look at Sam though it doesn't seem like she actually sees her. Instead she turns her blank stare back to the wall and starts writing again.

"Are you... alright there?" She said, stepping closer to her roommate.

She doesn't seem to react at first but when Sam steps closer her eye-lids seem to twitch and flutter a bit and she suddenly looks very confused.

"What... where...?"

"You were... I don't know, sleepwalking?"

"I was... Oh god damnit, not again!" she says when she looks around and notices the scribbling on the wall.

"As long as you're not asking for an explanation..."

"If it makes you uncomfortable, I won't. I just was worried about you, okay?"

"I'm okay. And it's more that I don't really have a good explanation..."

"You were... writing something?"

"Yeah, I'm just not sure what. But I've done it before. I... had kinda hoped it had stopped."

"I'm not sure it is." she shrugs a bit helplessly. "It's all... scribbles and symbols but it just looks as much as gibberish to me as it does to you."

"I don't know." is what she says but it sounds suspiciously like 'Yes.'

She nods faintly. "I'll have to get some paint in the morning..." she mumbles.

"Aye well, it's a bit drafty to go walking about in our pajamas," she said with a friendly smile.

"Of course. Not the end of the world. It's just sleepwalking, right?" At least when it happens during the night...

As she had a few times before, Sam seemed to keep listening a few seconds after Nailah had stopped speaking, before she replied.

"Aye, and it's something you can probably figure out."

"I... kinda know what it is." she admits. "Sometimes it's just jumbled up so much it makes no sense anymore..."

"I kinda... get these blackouts sometimes. Except they're more like... visions and dreams. About the future." she says carefully, as if waiting for the laughter or rolled eyes.

"I know. Just... I don't want to. And they're all jumbled most of the time. It's all symbolism and metaphor."

"Probably." she admits. "It's just... you know how I told you I knew it'd be pointless to fight with administration or that I wouldn't get to go to Xaviers? That's not because it seemed that way. I already knew. I just get to sit there and wait for it to play out..."

"Yeah, but... it's the same thing. It just feels like I'm waiting for it to happen because it doesn't really matter what I do. You get used to the patterns. Like how I already know I'm going to meet someone here and hey, look at that, my roomie wants to take me dancing, so I'm probably going to run into him there." she says, sounding, well, a little defeated honestly.

"So... a homeschooled girl who never dated before meets someone at university. Not that shocking, is it?"
