[Rocket] XNS - The Docks

[Narrator]

The morning after the humans' first night on the reserved VIP floor of a towering intergalactic hotel, they are escorted back to the docks where they stop before a door. Anu has yet not divulged why they have come.

[Hotel threads can be made, but I thought I'd continue toward the boldly going]

[Rachel O'Brien]

"I wonder where we are going?" Rachel said, boldly.

[Will Stanton]

"I've never been here before, have you?"

[Narrator]

Anu smiled, "Did you think we'd let you explore without a ship?"

[Steve Jones]

"Our own ship? No fooling?" Steve asked.

[Will Stanton]

"Surely, you mean we'll be passengers..."

[Narrator]

"You will see," is all he says before the door is opened and he leads them inside.

The dry dock beyond contains a single ship straight out of the pulp novels of a certain author. A finned rocketship painted red and gold, numbered 19.

[Steve Jones]

Steve's eyes widened and he burst out laughing.

[Will Stanton]

"What's so funny?"

[Steve Jones]

"It... it's Rex..." he laughed, snorting, "Rex Reynolds' Number 19 Starcruiser, from ... from my 'Blue Galaxy' series,"

[Nash Riley]

"So it looks like a rocket from a science fiction book? Will it actually fly?" It wasn't clear who the question was addressed too.

[John Hino]

"It most certainly will," a deep voice answers from the open hatch before a dark goggled J'Hon, clad in some sort of khaki work outfit, stepped down the entry stairs.

[Nash Riley]

"So, do the things that look like giant header pipes actually do something? Or are they just for looks."

[John Hino]

"Purely cosmetic. I hate to waste space, but Senator Kalverathrix was quite insistent that I stick to the aesthetics as described."

[Nash Riley]

"So you took part in building it?"

[John Hino]

"Lead engineer, actually," J'Hon answered with a smile as he lifted his goggles.
