Mike chuckled at that. "Here, step a little closer. I'm still holding some warm air from inside around me. Might as well share it before it runs out, right?"

She nodded, coming in closer to him and looking more comfortable as she did. Which really only encouraged her to get a little closer still.

"This is rather nice."

"I know, right?" he said, smiling a little. "Even better once it snows... little harder to hold the heat in, but it's worth it."

[Samantha McManus]

"I really wasn't ready for how much it snows in New York, coming here."

[Michael Asters]

"Well, I can understand that. Our country is all California and deserts with cowboys on motorcycles," he teased.

[Samantha McManus]

She stuck her tongue out at him.

"I mean it's more than we get in Ireland."

[Michael Asters]

"You poor, poor deprived people, without snow to give you days that you have an excuse to not go to school," he joked.

[Samantha McManus]

"We just make do with rain. It's like snow, but stealthier."

[Michael Asters]

"That'd have to be some rain to get shut in. I guess having mudball fights could work instead of snowball fights, you'd just need to buy more shampoo," he said with a smirk.

"Mud angels, similarly disappointing."

[Michael Asters]

"Somehow you didn't strike me as one for a roll in the mud, but I guess I've been wrong before," Mike teased.

[Samantha McManus]

"Well you know, once is enough, aye?"

[Michael Asters]

"I'll just take your word for it. And I'll make sure you learn the joys of heavy snow this winter," he said, shooting her a wicked grin.

[Samantha McManus]

"Last winter I mostly just stayed inside. I think I saw Mister Logan trudging through it, but the only telltale was the cigar smoke rising up."

[Michael Asters]

He looked over at her, smirking a little. "Awwwww... is little Sam afraid of the cold?" he teased.

[Samantha McManus]

"It ate a man! A short man, but still!"

[Michael Asters]

"Pfff, you come from the wild lands of Ireland. Who better to tame the wild snow here in the new world?"

[Samantha McManus]

"I'm from a sleepy little town where the biggest news is that sometimes, someone has their bicycle stolen." She stuck her tongue out at him.

[Michael Asters]

He smirked, shifting to lean toward her. "Right. I think you're holding out on me."

[Samantha McManus]

"It's absolutely the least magical and mysterious place you could imagine."

[Michael Asters]

Mike did a reasonable immitation of her accent. "The dragons and pixies only come out after night, after all! So that hardly counts!"

[Samantha McManus]

She groaned.

"Such an imagination you have. You going to hang out here much longer?"

[Michael Asters]

"Maybe a little bit more. I want to at least get the younger kids calmed down first. Need to head in?" he asked, turning around on the wall, still rather heedless of the four-story fall on the other side of it, and slipping off onto the roof.

"Aye, really should get some sleep," she said before reaching out to clasp his hand. "It was really nice talking to you, though."

[Michael Asters]

He gave her hand a squeeze, smiling back. "It was good to see you again, too," he said. And he didn't know why he did it. Later, he'd decide it was probably the emotional impact of the moment screwing with his sense of 'should' and 'shouldn't'. But that was when he leaned in and kissed her. Not forcefully, it was just... a kiss. With all the emotional impact rather well-shared over the still-lingering mindlink.

And that certainly caught Samantha by surprise, though by the emotions he could sense it certainly wasn't unwanted. There was a bit of nervousness around her, and certainly the kiss back was fairly chaste, but she was smiling after.

"...well I guess I'll sleep well now," she murmured.

From the look on Mike's face, he couldn't believe he'd done that, but wasn't sorry about it, either. "...yeah, don't want you catching cold," he admitted, jiggering the lock with his telekinesis so they could open the door. "See you tomorrow?"

"Aye. Don't stay out too long, okay?"

[Michael Asters]

"I'll do my best," he said, pulling the door open. "I've got a long day tomorrow of calling people who are selling motorcycles," he said with a smirk.

She laughed.

"Take care, Mike."

With a goofy grin on her face, she made her way back inside.
