"Obviously," he nodded.

"So... do you believe it'll work?"

[David Renko]

"It will work," Renko said, "Maybe not as you've designed it, but most designs don't stay with their first iteration."

"For example a few of these are unnecessary and that might cause it to explode if the system were used at full power."

Renko pointed at the different parts of the design as he talked about them.

"The theory behind it though is magnificent."

[John Hino]

Jack beamed with pride.

"I can't wait to see what you do with it."

[David Renko]

"I should have revised schematics in a few days, a few more days and I should have a working prototype ready," Renko said, "We'll see at that point if the design is feasible in practice as well as in theory."

[John Hino]

"We'll likely be out of port by then..." he sighed, "but at least we're here often."

[David Renko]

"This will take time and I will hold the first flight until you are back," Renko smiled.

[John Hino]

"I look forward to it," the lithe dragon smiled.

"Now... I have one other thing to show you," he smirked.

[David Renko]

"Oh?" Renko asked sounding curious.

[John Hino]

He moved his wings to the back to reveal his shiny mechanical armored vest.

[David Renko]

"Now that is interesting," Renko said examining the armored vest, "Is it just for protection or something else as well?"

[John Hino]

"Protection. But it's no ordinary armor either. What you see here is my most successful invention, my pride and joy," he grinned, "the Kinetic Dampener Vest."

[David Renko]

"How efficient is it?" Renko asked.

[John Hino]

"Enough to protect me from a few rounds from anything up to an imperial musket, not at close range of course."

[David Renko]

"Of course," Renko said, "But most things don't stand up well to an imperial musket at close range."

"What kind of material is it?"

[John Hino]

"The armor is just a thin iron plating or chainmail. The real innovation is in the Repulsion Field Matrix generated by these devices running in tandem," he said, pointing to one of many circular doodads on the vest.
