Issue 1 Downtime

Jack was passing by the docks on his way back to the tavern to tell Nate the good news. The happy look on his face was lost as soon as he laid eyes upon the crest of a newly arrived vessel.

A Black Lotus.

Why do I know that ship...

Images suddenly flashed across his eyes. A dead European woman with a slashed throat lying on the floor in a pool of blood. A disfigured Asian man with a mechanical arm stabbing another Asian man, whose own blade was on the ground. A burning room with Japanese decor. An airship emblazoned with a black lotus, floating over a burning Japanese estate.

"It's them..." he muttered with a growl. Before he even knew what he was doing, he had followed one of the ship's crewmen to the tavern. Once again before he realized, he had drawn his custom ray gun. He grabbed the man and shoved him to the wall, gun to the pirate's face.

"Where is your captain?" Jack growled.

"You making big mistake lizard lips," the Asian pirate said in broken English. "Anything happen to me, One-Eye find you. Kill you."

Jack then pulled the trigger and fired a blue energy bolt that reduced the top half of the pirate's head to ash. He then stepped back in horror, dropping the gun.

"...oh god..."
