Hiding (Find Me)

[John Hino]

Night had fallen and Jack was sitting on the fortress wall, back against the parapets. His head was buried in his crossed arms. He was crying.

[Nathaniel Davis]

Ghost hadn't been there before and suddenly he was, "I believe I distinctly recall telling you to stay out of trouble."

[John Hino]

He didn't respond or even look Ghost's way. Nobody here but us chickens. Yeah, that's the ticket.

[Nathaniel Davis]

"You can ignore me, but you know I'm a big fan of do unto others, so unless you want me to start ignoring you, then you need to tell me what possessed you to kill a member of another crew on neutral ground," Nate said.

[John Hino]

When Nate had found young Jack stowed away in his cargo hold, he was much like was at this exact moment; frightened and crying. Jack didn't even remember what it was he was running from.

"...I remembered..." he sniffed.

[Nathaniel Davis]

Ghost squatted down next to Jack, "So tell me what you remembered."

[John Hino]

He wiped his eyes as he looked to Nate.

"A man with one eye and a mechanical arm destroyed my home and killed my parents," he sniffed, "His ship's crest was a Black Lotus. It... it's here..."

[Nathaniel Davis]

"I'm pretty sure I've seen him. He wants your head. Up until what you just told me, I was somewhat inclined to give it to him. That was a pretty foolish thing to do."

[John Hino]

He hung his head.

"...I don't even know how I... one minute I was looking at the ship... the next I... I..." he answered, starting to cry again, "...I'm a murderer."

[Nathaniel Davis]

"We all are, depending on who you ask, but killing's not something you should ever get used to. You're confident this is the same ship?"

[John Hino]

He nodded, "As sure as I've ever been about anything in my life."

[Nathaniel Davis]

"Very well then. Get back to the ship. If you have to leave it, don't go alone."

[John Hino]

He stood at attention. "Aye aye captain," he answered with a much needed smile.
