The doors swung open, and a man in a large poncho and a dark hat strolled in.

"Whiskey," he demanded.

Nate raised an eyebrow at the demand, but poured a whiskey and set it in front of the man.

He took a long swill.

"Thanks. It's been...it's been too long."

"Not 'zactly. Got any grub?"

"Some, though this is mostly a waterin' hole and dance hall. If you're lookin' for somethin' fillin', there's better places in town to get it."

"I need somethin' nowish, and I'll go get somethin' else later."

Nate just shrugged and went back in the back, coming out with some stuff he'd managed to pull together that looked like leftovers from a prepared lunch. "This is the best I've got right now. Sorry."

Roland wolfed it down, not caring what it looked or tasted like.

"I needed that..."

"That'll be a nickel," Nate said, "More whiskey?"

"Yes. Now.

....please," he said, after a pause, digging around in his pocket, and pulling out an odd gold coin.

"This work?"

Nate looked at the coin carefully, trying to decide if it was the real thing or not.

It had some weird picture of a guy in a weird leaf-hat thing on one side, and the letter V in big letters on the back.

It seemed like real gold, at least...

Nate took it, turning it over and over in his hand. "So where are you from, stranger?"

"Outside of town. Just passin' through."

"And have you got a name?" He still seemed to be considering whether or not to accept the coin.

"Sometimes."

Nate sighed and tossed the coin in the till. Why do all the strange ones come in here? He's probably a wanted man or something.

The man took of his hat, revealing a shock of blonde hair, rubbing his gritty temples.

Nate looked up, thankful for the distraction, "Can I help you, ladies?"

"Were wondering if we could hear some dancing music," she said with her jaw set.

Meanwhile Do'noma looks relatively calm after not being immediately stared or yelled at and is looking around curiously.

"Sure thing. My regular player's not here right now so you'll have to make do with me," he said, going to sit down at the piano. He started playing a tune, a little rusty, but still decent.

"...I'll have to lead," she said to Do'noma as she held out a hand.

Even though you're the one dressed as a man...

Do'noma is not really sure what to expect and is still distracted from just listening to the weird but not unpleasant music coming from the wooden box and lets Sam just pull her along.

"Whole song and just one person..." she gawkes.

"It has strings inside, like a harp."

She clasped Do'noma's hand and lifted it up, putting the other hand on the native's hip before beginning to lead her in a simple dance.

"Oh!" she just says, not having expected Sam to be this seemingly forward in what she considers socially fine but she's not about to complain, instead just gladly letting Sam lead her in her bouncing around lightly on her feet. It looks a little awkward but after a while she starts to mimic what Sam does more and more.

"I'm... I'm sorry," she said as a flush came to her cheeks.

"I have to lead because you don't know the steps,"
she mumbled.

"Why apologize? Is fun!" she smiles, not noticing that thanks to the dancing her tail is somewhat sticking out the back of the duster.

The stranger raised an eyebrow, resting one hand on his belt.

A red-headed man in broad-rimmed black hat and duster stepped through the saloon door. He cast a judgmental eye at the dancers, and snorted derisively as he walked to the bar.

"'Tender! Whiskey!" he rudely demanded, despite Nate's entertaining of the womenfolk.

Nate frowned when he heard the voice and continued playing, "Are you still wearin' your guns? If you are, get out." There was an underlying menace in his voice suddenly.

"I resent the implication that I lack the good graces to enter such a fine establishment armed," he answered with a drawl and a slight smirk.

"Resent it all you want, but that don't make it any less true," Nate said, finishing up the piece he was playing and stopped. He turned around to stare at Nick. "Pardon me, ladies, I need to attend to some garbage that just showed up."

Do'noma looks genuinely disappointed when she looks over her shoulder at who to blame, though her expression quickly changes to worried when she notices her tail has been sticking out between the 'flaps' of the duster. Quickly spinning around to put her back against Sam she puts on a smile for Nate. "No worry."
