I13DT - Worse at This

[Nailah Weaver]

How the hell do you make for things to someone who can do whatever she wants whenever she wants? Nailah beats herself up as she walks down the hallway in the dorm until she gets to Altamira's door. Taking a deep breath she pushes down the memories of the last time she'd visited her in her dorm room and knocks on the door.

[Altamira Vazquez]

"Come in, Nailah."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Hello Mira." she says, stepping into the room. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything?"

[Altamira Vazquez]

"Nothing I can't put on hold," she said.

Mira was sitting cross-legged, hovering over the center of the room. "What brings you here?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Well, I've been kind of avoiding you since that double-date. If I'm honest, for all my hoping that you'd decide to come back at some point, now that you're here I'm not really sure what to say beyond I'm sorry."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"If that is all you have words for, I suppose that shall do, Nailah. What happened, happened, and there's nothing you or I can do to change that."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I've had quite some time to come up with a lot of words on just how badly I've failed you..."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"It was years ago, by my reckoning, Nailah. It's alright."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'm glad to hear that, but it hasn't been by my count..."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"Time doesn't always flow linearly, especially when you're on the run."

[Nailah Weaver]

"On the run from what?"

[Altamira Vazquez]

"I just meant that I'm busy. My job is rather full-time, wouldn't you say?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"If you don't want to tell me, that's alright."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"There's not much to tell. I've traveled around so much, seen amazing things. But, subjectively, it's been...I don't even know. I sort of...lost track. Of everything."

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah nods slightly, not quite sure she's following entirely, but reasonably certain she's on the right track.

"I'm not sure if it can compare to the wonders of the universe, but the coffee shop down in Maldon makes a pretty decent hot chocolate if you feel like it." she smiles.

[Altamira Vazquez]

"I don't know, they make a great cup on Kakaranathara, but I suppose we could go check it out."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Great. Wanna take the car or just fly over there?" It's telling when the flying into town still counts as the more mundane method of travel.

[Altamira Vazquez]

"I haven't seen your car, yet."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Time for me to show off then." she smirks.

[Altamira Vazquez]

"And be judged by the flame of the Phoenix."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Please don't scorch the leather seats." she chuckles as they head out.
